Description
Application deadline: Mar 18, 2026AWS Global Sales drives adoption of the AWS cloud worldwide, enabling customers of all sizes to innovate and expand in the cloud. Our team empowers every customer to grow by providing tailored service, unmatched technology, and unwavering support. We dive deep to understand each customer's unique challenges, then craft innovative solutions that accelerate their success. This customer-first approach is how we built the world's most adopted cloud. Join us and help us grow.
AWS is creating a new team focused on driving customer adoption of AWS security services - and we're looking for a technology leader to build it from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to define the mission, hire the team, and shape how AWS helps customers secure their workloads with services like AWS Security Hub, Amazon GuardDuty, Amazon Security Agent, and AWS's observability services.
Customers are moving fast - especially into generative AI and agentic architectures - and they need help doing that securely. At the same time, they want to get more from the AWS security services they already own and adopt new ones with confidence. That gap is where this team lives. You will build a team of Security Services Solutions Architects who work directly with customers to design, adopt, and operationalize AWS security services at scale. Your team will be the technical bridge between what AWS security services can do and what customers need them to do.
This team will work alongside security services sellers as a paired technical and commercial function. Together, you will drive security service adoption, deliver product team feedback that shapes the roadmap, and establish thought leadership that positions AWS as the most trusted cloud for security.
Key job responsibilities
- Build a new team of Security Services Specialist Solutions Architects from the ground up - define the charter, operating model, and engagement patterns for a function that doesn't exist yet
- Recruit, hire, and develop specialist SAs with deep expertise in cloud security, threat detection, security observability, and securing generative AI and agentic workloads
- Drive measurable adoption of AWS security services across enterprise customers by partnering with security services sellers as a paired technical and commercial motion
- Partner closely with AWS Account Teams and security strategy roles to drive holistic security transformation at customers
- Build strong relationships with AWS Partners to deliver best-in-class security architectures that combine AWS-native services with partner solutions
- Serve as the voice of the customer back to AWS security product teams - surface field patterns, identify gaps, and deliver feedback that shapes the product roadmap
- Produce and drive thought leadership through blogs, reference architectures, workshops, and conference sessions that position AWS as the most trusted cloud for security
- Help customers secure their generative AI and agentic architectures, meeting them where they are and helping them move faster without sacrificing their security posture
- Define and track success metrics across three dimensions: security service adoption, product team feedback and alignment, and thought leadership impact
A day in the life
No two days look the same in this role, and that's the point. You might start the morning reviewing a customer's security architecture with one of your SAs - helping them map out how Security Hub and GuardDuty fit into the customer's detection and response strategy. Mid-morning, you join a call with a security services seller to align on an account plan for an enterprise customer consolidating third-party security tooling onto AWS. Over lunch, you review a draft blog post from a team member on securing agentic workflows. In the afternoon, you sit down with a security product team to walk through field feedback your team has collected - real customer friction points that could inform the next product release. You wrap the day interviewing a candidate for an open SA role on your team. Through all of it, you're building - building a team, building relationships, building the playbooks that will define how this function operates.
This is a new team within the AWS Customer Solutions & Scale Innovation (CSSI) organization. You won't be inheriting a roster or stepping into an established operating model - you will create both. The team's mission is to accelerate customer adoption of AWS security services by pairing deep technical expertise with a commercial go-to-market motion alongside security services sellers. You will work closely with AWS Account Teams, security strategy roles, and AWS Partners to help customers build confident, secure operations on AWS. The customers your team serves are navigating real complexity - they're adopting generative AI, rethinking identity and access models, and trying to keep pace with a threat landscape that evolves daily. This team exists to help them do all of that on AWS.
