Description

The Senior Manager, M&A and Subsidiary Integration will lead a specialized team in the delivery of programs and projects that support a diverse portfolio of new acquisitions and long-standing subsidiaries. Partnering with subsidiary business and finance leaders, this role identifies process and system integration opportunities that leverage Amazon's scale and expertise while reducing cost and deepening operational controllership. The position drives integration projects from initial proposal through execution, working collaboratively across all Finance Operations teams in meeting operational and business objectives.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a challenging, fast-paced, and often ambiguous environment with a commitment to customer experience. This role requires a proven track record of delivering measurable results and the ability to influence and drive alignment across stakeholders from diverse functions and geographies. The successful candidate brings deep expertise in process design and project management, with demonstrated experience in continuous improvement initiatives. Their background must include cross-functional change management experience and a documented history of balancing financial controllership with operational efficiency.

Key job responsibilities

- Perform early diligence and strategic integration planning under tight deadlines (weeks) to provide assessment of receivable, payable, procurement, and other operations.

- Lead effort to recognize controllership gaps, implement solutions and mitigate interim and long-term risk. Apply exceptional judgement to identify risks and integration issues even if outside direct scope.

- Build partnerships with subsidiary Finance and business leaders by understanding unique business drivers and evolving operational requirements.

- Define a roadmap of process and technical solutions that supports subsidiary objectives while effectively advocating for lower cost, scalable service models.

- Drive project delivery, lead issue resolution, align cross-functional resources. Develop and implement solutions to integration blockers or service delivery challenges.

- Collaborate across Finance Operations functions to identify opportunities for new subsidiary service capabilities, build and drive plans to take opportunities from idea to implementation.

- Measure and monitor Finance Operations service delivery to subsidiaries. Partner with system and process owners to drive improvements in user experience, productivity and controllership.

- Identify financial and operational risks to Finance Operations, subsidiaries or to Amazon. Reduce or mitigate risk through improved integration methodology, services structure, and system features.

- Educate stakeholders and partners on the acquisition process and unique aspects of working with acquired subsidiaries. Advise on subsidiary pain points and operational best practices.

- Develop and implement effective communications with all stakeholders, establish a regular cadence of engagement with subsidiaries and Finance Operations support teams.



Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field

- 10+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

- 8+ years of hiring, leading and developing teams experience

- 5+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience

- 5+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience

- 8+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience

- 5+ years of recommending practices and processes to ensure financial data integrity and compliance with internal and external policies experience



Extended Qualifications

- 5+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience

- 5+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

- 5+ years of working with senior staff (e.g. c-suite) experience

- Controllership or compliance experience

- Experience delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives/projects

- Experience with process improvement, Kaizan, and/or Six Sigma

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $137,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $227,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
