Description

The Amazonian Leadership eXperiences (ALX) team is seeking a Senior UX Design Manager to lead the design vision and execution of Amazon's talent management ecosystem within the Amazonian Leadership Experiences (ALX) organization. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape how 1.5 million Amazonians worldwide develop their careers using Amazon's world-class integrated talent development system.

Working closely with user research, product management, engineering, and science, a successful candidate will balance strategic thinking with operational discipline and a bias for speed. You'll lead your team to design elegant and intuitive user journeys, and then abstract their work into repeatable design patterns and reusable components. You'll embrace the ambiguity of a highly dynamic, interconnected business environment, and take the opportunity to help define products, process, and policies through design. An ideal candidate is passionate about Amazon's culture and developing Amazonians at all levels.

Key job responsibilities

- You are a role model, mentor, and motivator

- You are invested in growing people, developing talent, and creating an inclusive and inspiring environment

- You bring deep expertise in multiple facets of UX design: interaction models, visual and motion design, IA and design systems

- Drive consensus on design decisions through application of usability heuristics and data

- You prioritize effectively, use data to inform your decisions, weigh the impact and tradeoffs of decisions, and seek input where needed to drive alignment

- You work closely with partners to develop a shared vision and lead a process to define and design experiences that deliver on those shared objectives

- You are comfortable navigating from ambiguity to clarity, drawing upon your expertise and design process to create structure. You proactively plan ahead, look around corners, and can see the next step (even when it doesn’t exist yet)

- You develop processes that drive quality and efficiency to help designers accomplish more than what they could otherwise

- Experience leading design teams of 5 to 10 or more direct reports

- Experience leading a diverse team in the delivery of experiences from end to end (user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity visuals)

- Experience designing HR tech or enterprise workforce solutions

- Track record of scaling design teams and processes
