We are looking to hire an experienced leader to join as Manager of Program Managers in DP&R team. You will be a natural self-starter who is comfortable supporting large, complex cross functional programs and will have a true hands-on approach, program management and analytical skills, and be an effective communicator.
This role is focused on conceptualizing and leading the strategic programmatic initiatives driven by data analysis and managing high-priority FBA seller escalations. As a Manager in Program Management, you will lead a team of Program Managers, own the establishment of new processes and drive alignment across a global set of partner teams to improve defect prevention space. You are responsible for defining and delivering important programs with broad cross-organizational, cross-regional, or significant business impact. Your work focuses on efforts that solve significantly complex or endemic problems. As a Manager, you are trusted to operate with complete independence and are often assigned to focus on areas where the strategy has not yet been defined, with an expectation to directly lead the design of the solution, implementation, and delivery of a highly complicated cross-functional project in an ambiguous or new business area. You consistently bring data-driven business and strategic judgment to decisions. You will be responsible for driving to launch and identifying opportunities to enhance capabilities that improve the quality, scalability, and customer satisfaction of our products.
Our ideal candidate is a self-starter and is comfortable conceptualizing and leading complex initiatives from end to end. You should have proven experience in strategy, large-scale execution, entrepreneurial innovation, working cross functionally with program/product managers, and people leadership. This role requires comfort in ambiguous situations, exercising business judgment, ability to influence cross-functional and remotely located teams, customer-centric and creative mindset and analytical skills are essential.
Key job responsibilities
* Defining and delivering important FBA seller reduction programs with broad cross-organizational and/or cross-regional business impact.
* Deliver solutions and mechanisms that resolve significantly complex problems and provide a long-term beneficial impact on a large segments, both internally and externally to DP&R.
* Contribute both in and outside of DP&R to improves business efficiency, to simplify and to improve quality, to reduces bottlenecks, and to further deliver FBA’s value proposition to sellers.
* Operate with autonomy, showing high judgment in decisions that have business and possibly technical implications. .
* Identify and tackle intrinsically hard problems
* Represent, verbally and in writing, complex decisions, trade-offs, and potential solutions clearly to VPs and when needed, SVPs
* Build consensus. Align teams toward coherent strategies. Bring clarity to complexity, probe assumptions, illuminate pitfalls, and foster shared understanding
* Raise the bar managing Projects and leading Program Management
* Lead your team of Program Managers to do the same! Play a key role developing others, including mentoring, educating, and building force multipliers.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- 6+ years of team management experience
- 6+ years of cross functional project delivery experience
- 6+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience owning program strategy and end to end delivery
- Bachelor's degree
Extended Qualifications
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership- 5+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
- Technical fluency; comfort understanding and discussing technology concepts, schedule tradeoffs and new opportunities with technical team members.
- SQL and Data Analysis experience.
- 6+ years of Business Management and/or Operations experience
- Experience juggling multiple priorities and making things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions
- Excellent Verbal and written communications skills
- Experience building relationships and working effectively across internal and external organizations
- Presentation skills and the ability to articulate complex concepts to cross functional audiences

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $189,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
