If you’re interested in innovating at scale to address big challenges in the world, this is the team for you.As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer on our team, you will leverage your deep technical expertise to build reliable, scalable, and highly performant AI systems. You will drive technical strategy and collaborate closely with Applied Scientists on modeling experiments and prototypes, translating concepts into production-ready solutions. Key job responsibilities
The ideal candidate for this role has a demonstrable track record of delivering successfully in a hyper-growth ML/AI environment by leveraging their deep technical expertise and adapting deftly to rapidly evolving priorities.
In this role, you will:
- Spearhead large scale technical initiatives and make critical architectural decisions
- Identify and resolve complex technical challenges, often in ambiguous problem spaces
- Design and implement scalable data processing pipelines and infrastructure to support ML model training workflows
- Develop tools for data preprocessing, feature engineering, and efficient resource utilization for large-scale AI training jobs
- Create monitoring systems, debugging tools, and performance optimization solutions for ML infrastructure
- Collaborate to integrate ML frameworks with production systems and implement version control for both code and model artifacts
- Mentor and guide MLEs and SDEs, fostering their growth and the overall team’s capabilities
A day in the life
Our main data consumers and producers are science teams. You will work closely with scientists from various domains to clarify requirements, design new systems, upgrade existing services and provide operational support to mitigate issues. You work will largely comprise of working with data services and pipelines.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Extended Qualifications
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
