Description

Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

We are looking for a Learning Experience Designer with Technical Training experience. We are rapidly developing global training videos and courses for installation, troubleshooting, professional field service technicians, Customer Support Associate tools, systems, and processes training, as well as internal onboarding enablement. This includes, but is not limited to, instructional design, multimedia technologies, and training assessment strategies. We are seeking a candidate with a proven track record in delivering high-quality, interactive, and scalable learning content.

The Kuiper Global Development team is focused on launching and operating the Kuiper service across the globe. A successful candidate will be highly analytical and a hands-on technical specialist, able to work extremely effectively in a matrix organization. They should be adept at understanding how Learning and Development models work in a customer-centric organization. We are looking for someone customer-obsessed and technology-savvy with a proven track record of developing and maintaining training programs.

Key job responsibilities

• Design and develop engaging, interactive, and scalable training content (videos, courses, simulations) for various audiences (technicians, field service, customer support, internal employees)

• Collaborate with SMEs to gather requirements and translate complex technical concepts into effective learning experiences

• Apply instructional design principles (ADDIE) to create comprehensive training programs aligned with business goals

• Leverage multimedia technologies, authoring tools, and LMS to deliver training in various formats (e-learning, instructor-led, blended)

• Conduct training needs analysis, evaluate existing programs, and identify areas for improvement

• Develop assessment strategies to measure training effectiveness and learner comprehension

• Stay updated on trends, technologies, and best practices in instructional design and adult learning

• Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders, SMEs, and project managers

• Continuously improve training materials based on feedback, evaluation data, and changing business needs

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of training documentation, guidelines, and standards

Export Control Requirement:

A day in the life

You will lead our efforts to develop the mechanisms, workflows and budget to support our ongoing operations needs. This includes identifying internal and external partnerships and working across Amazon to develop and execute a compelling model of learning management and training. You will support customer support and field service operations to balance our business needs while ensuring we have a properly trained and educated workforce to support our customers.

About the team

The Global Development team mission is to plan, develop and execute on strategies to launch and operate Kuiper services globally. Through regional and local country operations, our team is responsible for delivering revenue from residential and small business broadband services. On a global level, regional and country level, the team develops business models, local and regional partnerships and fixed service operations in service enabled countries.



Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field

3 years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or training program creation



Extended Qualifications

Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field

Experience in developing technical training for field service technicians, customer support, or related roles

Proven ability to design and develop interactive and engaging learning content

Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE)

Proficiency in multimedia authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and learning management systems

Ability to work collaboratively with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams

Knowledge of multimedia technologies, such as video production, animation, and simulation tools

Familiarity with e-learning standards (e.g., SCORM, xAPI) and accessibility guidelines

Experience with learning analytics and training evaluation methods

Certification in instructional design or related field (e.g., Certified Professional in Learning and Performance, ATD Master Instructional Designer)

Experience with agile project management methodologies and tools

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $215,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
