AWS Global Sales (AGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

AWS Global Sales (AGS) People Experience team is looking for a Senior Job Architecture specialist to join our team. AGS recently reorganized the organization to improve our customer experience by better aligning our customer-facing teams, resulting in increased agility, scale, and efficiency, while laying the foundation for accelerated customer impact and growth for the next chapter of our growth. As part of our transformation effort and ongoing support of developing our talent, we are investing in a Sr. Job Architecture Specialist to join our team.

This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual to lead the AGS job architecture and role taxonomy work at AWS. We are looking for a candidate who is highly organized, analytical, influential and has a passion for working on the edge of the business, HR, Finance and technology to drive the right outcomes for our business. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategy, development, implementation, governance and maintenance of job architecture, including job levels, job families, job classifications, and job competencies/capabilities. The candidate must have a passion for both being able to think big and broad in this space, crate a vision, while also being a strong operator with a willingness to do hands on work with data and analytics. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10+ years of experience in job architecture, management, or related fields, with a demonstrated ability to develop job architecture for a large complex organization. In addition, the candidate must possess strong leadership and communication skills, and have strong customer obsession to deliver results for the business.

Key job responsibilities

- Develop, implement, and maintain AGS job architecture, including job levels, job families, job classifications, and job competencies for assigned business unit

- Collaborate and earn trust with stakeholders (business leaders, HR, Finance and technology partners) to analyze job requirements and design solutions that meets the organization's needs.

- Research and analyze both internal and external best practices in role taxonomy and develop strategies for implementation.

- Monitor and report on performance and make recommendations for improvement.

- Lead the development of tools and processes to ensure accuracy and consistency through working with various stakeholders in the business (Annual Planning, Global Sales Compensation) and HR (central compensation, HRBP’s, etc.)

- Partner with systems owners to ensure that job architecture is embedded and consistent across relevant technologies, minimizing errors and defects

- Maintain a current and accurate job architecture database.

- Develop and implement job architecture training programs for stakeholders.

- Liaise with other departments to ensure job architecture alignment with organizational objectives.

- Provide guidance and support to stakeholders on job architecture-related issues.

- Analyze job architecture-related data and provide meaningful insights.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have significant leadership experience working across or with large enterprise sales organizations. They will think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions and work cross-organizationally to earn trust and make the right decisions. A keen sense of ownership, drive, and scrappiness are critical. You will work closely and often with AWS executives, so strong written and verbal communications is a must.

• The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of leadership experience working across large enterprise sales organizations and deep experience in sales architecture (minimum 2-3 years)

• Strong business partner experience, partnering with business leaders and key stakeholders to deliver business impactful results (e.g. Finance, Human Resources) and ability to earn trust

• The right person will be technical and analytical, and able to dive deep into details and should have at minimum, advanced skills in Excel

• Experience building scalable processes, systems and tools to serve a diverse and dynamic field sales organization.

• Technical knowledge is helpful, including in areas such as: software development, product development, defining technical requirements, analytics solutions, and also data warehouses.

• Working across a matrix organization to influence and align various levels of leadership on role taxonomy, job architecture, and governance

• Strong project management skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of presenting to senior management

• Able to operate successfully in a lean, fast-paced organization, and to create a vision and organization that can scale quickly

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $134,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $222,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
