One of the most ambitious missions that Leo has undertaken to date, the Leo satellite constellation, is our solution to providing reliable internet around the world. We are looking for a Lead Technician for our Front Half Days shift (FHD) to help full-scale production of the Leo satellites.

Key job responsibilities

- Driving and developing departmental continuous improvement initiatives and support implementation.

- Assemble mechanical and electrical satellite components, sub-assemblies, and integration assemblies, fabricating and/or processing materials into complex manufactured products, and operating testing equipment and tooling, all in a Cleanroom and ESD control environment.

- Lead process work and review output for quality and adherence to standards and procedures

- Lead daily team meeting facilitation, end-of-shift reporting, and coordinating efforts to minimize production interruptions.

- Support new-hire training programs within your department and contribute to development and modification of training programs. You develop training plans for your team and are responsible for implementing training programs within your department.

- Drive safety standards and operations protocol while ensuring team compliance.

Additional Requirements:

- Willing to work all shifts, overtime and weekends as needed. Estimated shift times 1st shift: Wed-Sat 6AM-4:30PM Shift will vary, depending on program needs

- Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position

- Able to lift-up to 25lbs. unassisted

A day in the life

The Lead MFG Assembly Technician will identify process improvements to improve build efficiency. You will work closely with multiple engineering teams on both early hardware development and setting the stage for later production hardware manufacturing processes. Qualifications

- High school or equivalent diploma

- 4+ years of hardware development, test lab, space/aerospace maintenance or hands-on engineering environment experience



Extended Qualifications

- 2+ years of mechanical and electrical integration or assembly experience

- Experience in a fast-paced, automated, industrial, logistics, production or manufacturing environment

- 4+ years of hand on experience with precision torque, measurement and inspection devices (i.e., automated and manual torque wrenches, calipers, micrometers, profilometers, optical inspection devices, multi-meters, torque wrenches)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $63,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $104,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
