Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

We're looking for an outstanding Electro-mechanical maintenance technician specializing in Preventative Maintenance and Repairs on Electro-mechanical equipment and devices. This position will support out Solar array production equipment and be the main point of contact for equipment maintenance in that area.

Key job responsibilities

- Operate, test, or maintain robotic equipment

- Respond to unplanned maintenance requests

- Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents such as; blueprints, electrical, and diagrams to diagnose and repair electrical issues.

- Basic (or better) understanding of PLC systems.

- Test and repair pneumatic assemblies

- Understands and analyses the technical specifications of mechatronic systems, subsystems, modules and components

- Performs scheduled, predictive, and preventive maintenance to detect and prevent problems

- Uses troubleshooting skills to identify and prevent possible problems and failures, and to systematically and intelligently make repairs

- Incorporates relevant technical literature into the understanding of system operation and coordinate efforts with other technicians involved in installing or maintaining equipment or components

- Installs, repairs, adjusts, and tests equipment and components to ensure that systems function properly

- Communicates with machine operators, and operate equipment to detect equipment problems, analyze malfunctions, and verify system problems

- Observes and incorporates safety standards and regulations required for safe operation of the system.

A day in the life

This position will work side by side with Engineering and Production teams to develop creative solutions and support production activities by performing repairs and preventative maintenance on eletrco-mechanical devices such as prox sensors, photo eyes, pick and place robots, vacuum systems, low and high voltage systems.

About the team

Our team, Kuiper Equipment Group (KEG) is a highly skilled group of maintenance technicians that perform a variety of maintenance tasks and are involved in small and large scale projects for design and layout of lab space.



Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.

- 4+ years working experience with installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining electro-mechanical systems and devices.

- With or without reasonable accommodations, must be willing and able to work with powered lift equipment – for example forklift or scissor lifts.

- Valid Driver’s license and able to satisfy Amazon driver eligibility criteria.

- With or without reasonable accommodations, must be able to lift up to 49 pounds on some occasions, stand/walk for up to 8-10 hours (with breaks), and able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.



Extended Qualifications

- Experience performing scheduled, predictive, and preventive maintenance on Electro-mechanical systems and devices.

- Experience with troubleshooting systems to identify and prevent possible problems and failures.

- Experience installing, repairing, adjusting, and testing electro-mechanical equipment and components to ensure that systems function properly

- Familiar with Lock out Tag Out(LOTO) devices and processes.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $63,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $113,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
