Location: Bellevue, WA
Multiple Positions Available:
1. Own the design of physical fulfillment and logistics systems around the globe, to develop optimal solutions for the fulfillment and transportation network through site layout, equipment specification, material flow, process design, and intellectual property considerations.
2. Dive into the emerging technologies and work with internal design and external product teams to drive improvements to the upcoming products. Manage and document the product development from concept to general availability.
3. Innovate with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems including robotics and mechatronics across 100+ new fulfillment and logistics centers that are being built each year.
4. Simultaneously manage and delegate multiple high visibility projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
5. Provide technical leadership for large-scale engineering projects and advise Director/VP, Broader Tech/Business Community.
6. Lead and actively participate in design reviews, improving their delivery and aligning facilities toward coherent strategies. Bring clarity and simplicity to complexity, probe assumptions, illuminate pitfalls, and foster shared understanding.
7. Lead ergonomic design improvements leveraging digital human modeling results.
8. Develop standard work documentation across multiple building types.
9. Identify, invent and analyze key operational and financial metrics as part of program and feature selection in order to drive smart decisions.
10. Actively recruit for Amazon as well as participate in the hiring/interview process. Provide technical assessments for IDE promotions.
11. Domestic travel up to 10% to perform role responsibilities may be required
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or related discipline followed by 5 progressively responsible years of experience in job offered or related occupation in industrial or mechanical engineering. In the alternative, employer will accept a Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or related discipline and 3 year of experience in job offered or related occupation in industrial or mechanical engineering.Experience must include:
1. 3 years of experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems including robotics and high-speed manufacturing.
2. 3 years of experience with process design based on Lean Principles
3. 1 year of experience in system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analyses, statistical analyses, reliability analyses, and decision making.
4. 1 year of experience in management of engineering design projects.
5. 1 year of experience using quantitative and qualitative data to drive improvements.
The pay range for this position in Bellevue, WA is $136,427-$178,800 (yr); however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
