World Wide Engineering & Innovation (WWEI) is seeking an exceptional Sr. Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead execution of next-generation automation and sortation initiatives across the Middle Mile, last Mile, and SSD fulfillment network. This role will drive end-to-end program delivery for complex hardware and process automation programs, influencing both engineering development and operational deployment at scale.The TPM will manage a diverse portfolio of initiatives including automated material handling systems, robotics solutions, and next-generation sort center designs. You will coordinate cross-functional teams spanning hardware engineering, operations, safety, finance, and vendor partners to deliver new builds, retrofits, and pilot-to-scale deployments. This role requires strong program leadership to manage timelines, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder alignment while ensuring solutions are scalable, cost-effective, and operationally robust.
We are looking for a proven program leader with experience delivering complex engineering or automation initiatives in fast-paced environments. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong ownership, structured problem solving, and the ability to influence across multiple organizations. You will partner closely with engineering teams and senior leadership to drive high-visibility programs that shape the future of logistics automation across the global network.
This position requires approximately 25% travel to support design reviews, pilot deployments, and stakeholder alignment. This is a high-impact role offering the opportunity to lead large-scale automation programs, work with industry-leading technology, and help define the future of sortation and logistics systems.
Key job responsibilities
This Sr. Technical Program Manager will own end-to-end delivery of automation programs from concept through pilot, validation, and multi-site deployment across the WWEI automation portfolio. The role will develop and enforce a structured product stage-gate process across hardware and industrial engineering teams, ensuring consistent product development, readiness reviews, and scalable deployment standards. The TPM will build mechanisms to improve how pilot solutions are developed, validated, and transitioned into network-wide products, driving repeatable processes for pilot-to-scale execution.
This position will also own the long-term automation roadmap, including development and management of the 5-year strategy and alignment with OP1 and OP2 planning cycles in partnership with Finance. The TPM will drive cross-functional execution across hardware engineering, industrial engineering, safety, RME, operations, and vendor partners, while ensuring alignment with Amazon Robotics, GES, ACES, and other partner teams. The role will establish program governance, manage milestones, risks, and dependencies, and coordinate design reviews, pilot readiness, FAT/SAT planning, and deployment execution.
The TPM will also partner with stakeholders to define scalable deployment models, support strategies, and lifecycle ownership for new automation products. This includes working closely with GES, RME, and Operations to ensure solutions are maintainable, supportable, and operationally robust. The successful candidate will provide leadership visibility through structured program updates, roadmap reviews, and executive communications, while identifying technical, operational, and scaling risks and driving mitigation plans across teams.
A day in the life
As a Sr. Technical Program Manager in WWEI Automation, you will partner closely with hardware and industrial engineering teams to drive execution of automation products from concept through deployment. A typical day includes leading stage-gate reviews, tracking pilot readiness, and coordinating cross-functional workstreams across Safety, RME, Operations, Finance, and Amazon Robotics. You will review design progress, unblock technical and operational risks, and align stakeholders on roadmap priorities and OP1/OP2 planning. The role also involves working with vendors on development timelines, supporting site deployment planning, and building mechanisms to scale pilots into network-wide products while providing clear program updates to leadership.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience- 5+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent
Extended Qualifications
- 6+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
