Key job responsibilities

• Capture requirements and turn aspirational company or customer goals into well-defined, achievable and testable solutions.

• Manage multi-year generating substation/ switchyard and transmission substation needs.

• Own Data center HV/MV design strategy and collaborate with other disciplines to create a global program strategy.

• Facilitate standardization, development, and continuous auditing of substation specifications, substation equipment factory test scripts, commissioning scripts with DCE Principal and global Engineers, HV Design Engineering teams and external consultants/ OEMs.

• Own and drive roadmap to sustainable HV Substation designs without SF6 greenhouse gas.

• Find endemic problems and work to resolve by developing business justification and coordinating global cross-functional resources to enable development of power distribution or control system products, providing sustainability, capacity, and availability benefits.

• Author scope of work (SOW) documents and approve/ onboard substation equipment vendors and consultants.

• Own and manage program funding cycle and over-arching Net Present Value (NPV) and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models.

• Drive and own Substation forecast and energization dashboards informing prioritization of most impactful business needs. Basic understanding of data analytics, Python, Tableau, Salesforce is required.

• Provide monthly global program reporting to executive leadership, mitigating risks and escalating blockers to substation capacity delivery.

• Provide clear line of sight to our partners in procurement in order to secure substation Long Lead Equipment. • Build and/or improve mechanisms to forecast utility capacity to influence design/ delivery of substation projects and associated power quality.

• Participate in site walks, substation energization, factory and field testing and informing lessons learned and continuous improvement of the DC HV BOD.

• Lead program management of onsite power generation projects, enabling integration with substation designs, engaging cross-functional internal teams, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and consultants.

• Be a high judgement leader within the global group as well as within internal and external teams that support Amazon’s data centers.

Qualifications

- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience

- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules



Extended Qualifications

- 8+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
