Amazon's Human Rights & Social Impact program drives customer trust, business continuity, and sustainable social impact by embedding respect for human rights and the environment throughout Amazon’s entire value chain. We implement company-wide standards and commitments such as our Global Human Rights Principles (GHRP) and Supply Chain Standards (SCS). We seek to continuously improve the tools and processes used in integrating human rights and environmental due diligence across the business.

The Global Remediation and Investigation Team (GRIT) is looking for a Human Rights Compliance Specialist to manage human rights and environmental impacts within the Americas region.

This role combines technical human rights expertise with remediation design and oversight, investigation coordination, stakeholder management, and analytical problem-solving to ensure effective resolution of cases while maintaining rigorous documentation and data integrity standards. The role encompasses the full lifecycle of impact management: investigation, corrective action, remedy, and stakeholder response coordination.

Key job responsibilities

Core Responsibilities:

- Partner with internal teams and suppliers to resolve audit findings and supply chain matters

- Guide partners through structured improvement processes using established frameworks and standard operating procedures

- Support implementation of immediate actions and sustainable, long-term solutions

Supplier Engagement:

- Work directly with suppliers and vendors to provide practical coaching and clarify expectations - Track progress against agreed action plans

- Conduct site visits when needed to provide in-person guidance and assess progress

Case Management:

- Gather and review documentation to confirm completion of action items

- Apply established tools, templates, and guidance to manage cases consistently

- Document all case activities thoroughly in case management systems to ensure data accuracy and transparency

- Escalate to Human Rights Compliance Managers or Regional Remediation Leads when additional interpretation or support is required

Collaboration & Improvement:

- Collaborate with business units and cross-functional stakeholders to advance improvement efforts

- Identify barriers and support timely resolution

- Contribute insights from experience to strengthen standard operating procedures

- Promote consistent approaches across operations

Professional Development:

- Participate in ongoing training, audit shadowing, and skill-building opportunities

- Develop ability to identify patterns or emerging themes across cases

- Share observations with senior team members to support broader analysis and continuous improvement

Qualifications

- Experience with MS Office, MS Excel, and data retrieval languages

- Experience in compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent



Extended Qualifications

- Professional working proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese preferred

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
