Description
The Amazon Seller Events team produces experiences that strengthen relationships with Amazon’s independent sellers and drive real impact. By connecting sellers with experts, facilitating interactive dialogue, and delivering compelling content—including product announcements, success stories, and actionable insights—we educate, inspire, and empower sellers to grow their businesses.We are seeking a Head of Production and Content to lead the creative, technical, and editorial execution of our global seller events. This role ensures that what happens on stage, on screen, and in video resonates with Amazon’s selling partners worldwide.
Key job responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
*Build and scale a high-performing production, content, and video team, including hiring, onboarding, and career development.
*Define org structure and roles to support growing event needs.
* Set a clear vision, priorities, and goals for the team; ensure alignment with business objectives.
* Provide mentorship and coaching, fostering both creative excellence and operational discipline.
* Establish a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability across production and content functions.
* Partner with other Amazon teams (product, communications) to ensure strong collaboration and shared success.
Production Leadership
* Own the end-to-end production lifecycle from creative concept through onsite execution and post-event wrap.
* Develop and enforce production playbooks, standards, and best practices to ensure consistency across all event formats.
* Oversee technical production design (staging, lighting, sound, broadcast, and streaming) to deliver polished, world-class experiences.
* Serve as executive producer for flagship moments (keynotes, product launches, live broadcasts).
* Anticipate risks and build contingency plans, ensuring business continuity in high-pressure, live environments.
* Drive adoption of new tools and technologies that elevate audience engagement and streamline production workflows.
* Create scalable models for producing multiple events simultaneously, balancing quality with efficiency.
* Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, helping shape how Amazon communicates through live and digital experiences.
Content Strategy & Management
* Oversee the content programming strategy, aligning with business goals and audience needs.
* Partner with stakeholders to shape agendas, keynotes, and breakout and ancillary content.
* Partner with the communications team on the general sessions/keynote speaker and story development process, ensuring content is clear, compelling, and consistent.
* Participate in content review cycles, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and audience relevance.
* Leverage data and audience insights to improve content effectiveness.
Video & Storytelling
* Lead the in-house video team, overseeing concept development, scripting, filming, editing, and marketing strategy.
* Ensure cohesive storytelling across live stage moments, pre-recorded video, and on-demand content.
* Innovate with new formats and technologies to expand the reach and impact of event content.
* Partner with Creative and Brand teams to ensure all video content and visual storytelling aligns with Amazon's brand guidelines, voice, and creative standards.
Operational Excellence
* Define strategy, success metrics, and goals for production and content efforts.
* Build scalable mechanisms for team operations, enabling consistency across multiple simultaneous events.
* Drive post-event debriefs with insights and recommendations to improve quality and scalability.
* Stay ahead of industry trends in production, video, and content to evolve event experiences.
* Build and manage relationships with top-tier production vendors, negotiating contracts to ensure quality, innovation, and cost-effectiveness.
* Anticipate challenges, remove blockers, and make informed tradeoffs between business needs and technical constraints.
* Serve as a thought leader in event production and content strategy, staying ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of program or project management experience- 7+ years of managing teams experience
- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
- Proven success delivering large-scale event production (stage, AV, broadcast, or video) with measurable impact.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute content strategies for live or digital events.
- Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
- Experience influencing and collaborating with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using data and analytics to measure success and inform decisions.
- Ability to travel up to 30% and work across multiple time zones.
Extended Qualifications
- 5+ years producing global-scale, high-visibility events (corporate, entertainment, or broadcast).- Expertise in content development workflows (agenda design, speaker preparation, editorial reviews, content QA).
- Ability to move seamlessly between strategic vision, creative ideation, and operational execution.
- Thrives in ambiguous, fast-paced environments; can proactively remove blockers and make independent decisions.
- Exceptional executive communication skills, with experience leading leadership reviews, show direction, and post-event debriefs.
- Demonstrated ability to innovate while driving operational excellence and process improvement.
- Passion for storytelling and audience engagement, with a track record of creating impactful experiences.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $225,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
