Key job responsibilities
We are looking for someone who can:
• Provide subject matter expertise on end-to-end import and export requirements from proof of concept through prototype development, manufacturing set-up, testing, mass production, and post-import audit for new technologies.
• Perform import and export product classification, make export license determinations, prepare export licensing applications, and audit import/export transactions.
• Perform research and analysis on trade risks and opportunities, summarize findings, and prepare recommendations for global stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Amazon's regional trade teams to execute new product and country expansions
• Effectively lead cross-functional projects, with a focus on efficiency and scalability
• Define and report on key performance and trade compliance metrics
• Provide effective trade compliance training and public policy updates to stakeholders
A day in the life
You will provide the business with critical SME knowledge and analyses on many topics, including import/export classification, valuation, licensing requirements, partner government agency (PGA) implications, and cost-savings initiatives on a global scale. You will provide training, and create and implement scalable processes with business stakeholders. In executing this role, you will work directly with internal Legal, Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, Tax, Transfer Pricing, Finance and Procurement teams, and various external company partners. You will also work closely with all of Amazon's global trade teams.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution• 2+ years of trade compliance experience
• 2+ years of knowledge of import and export compliance requirements
• Ability to lead and provide direction utilizing independent judgment
• Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
• Demonstrated communication skills (written and verbal) with all levels of Amazon associates and management
• Associates must be in good standing
• Ability to work overtime as required
• Ability to work flexible schedules, shifts, and areas
• Continued meeting or exceeding of department performance goals
Extended Qualifications
• Aerospace or technology manufacturing industry experience.• Experience working in a logistics and global trade compliance environment with multinational corporations.
• Advanced compliance training, Masters or Law degree is a plus, but is not required
• Prior trade experience with electronics, communications, and space product manufacturing or in a related industry
• Experience identifying, creating and driving strategic trade initiatives
• Experience working with global trade ERP systems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $91,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $196,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
