Description
Project Kuiper is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. The Kuiper team is looking for a Senior Category Sourcing leader to support business and engineering stakeholders in selecting, developing and managing business relationships with critical technology and service suppliers, and others as needed to execute on Kuiper objectives. The ideal candidate will have a successful track record sourcing Electronic components and semiconductors, developing and executing strategy, negotiating master agreements and statements of work, and managing supplier performance. Experience working in new and ambiguous environments while solving complex problems with a broad range of cross functional stakeholders will be an advantage.
Key job responsibilities
• Use industry and relevant data analysis, create and execute strategic sourcing plans for a technology, business unit, department, or project to help internal customers meet their goals
• Work with a range of stakeholders including business leaders, engineering leaders, legal, program management, and supply chain to negotiate a variety of agreements and contracts including term sheets, MOUs, NDAs, SOWs, development agreements, component purchase agreements and others
• Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify opportunities to reduce cost, minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and industry developments that benefit Amazon’s customers
• Influence suppliers' processes, technology decisions, and policies in ways that are mutually beneficial and sustainable for both organizations
• Prioritize projects and activities to deliver maximum cost reductions and reliable on-time delivery
• Manage cross-functional projects against plans and objectives to meet commitments and goals
• Drive financial modeling of large and complex deals • Evaluate and monitor financial health of critical suppliers
• Effectively lead cross-functional meetings with clear document writing, agenda creation, note capture and follow-up activity coordination
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field- Experience in data analysis using tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, or equivalent
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments
- Experience creating an innovative global supply strategy for the organization resulting in a tangible benefit to the business
- Experienced in PCBA component and EMS supplier contract negotiations
Extended Qualifications
- Experience in data centers, infrastructure service providers, or related technology companies- Experience in negotiations with global suppliers with a proven track record in cost reduction
- Experience in procurement practices working with engineering, supply chain and Tier 1 OEM partners
- Experience leading cross functional teams driving supply chain initiatives.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
