Description
We are seeking an experienced security leader and manager to join our Global Investigations team. This role will lead and manage a global team that investigates, mitigates, and prevents internal security incidents across Amazon's corporate facilities and AWS data centers. The ideal candidate will drive innovation in security practices while managing a diverse team of security professionals to protect Amazon's people, assets, and information.This position may require occasional travel.
On-call availability for critical security incidents

Key job responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of security professionals responsible for responding to internal security threats.
- Manage a global team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Provide mentorship, performance management, and career development for team members
- Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to ensure consistent security operations across the organization.
- Oversee investigations into internal physical security incidents and other critical security matters.
- Manage response to escalated security incidents
- Coordinate external partners on complex investigations.
- Ensure timely resolution of security matters and incident response workflows.
- Develop and implement security protocols for both corporate facilities and AWS data centers.
- Drive innovation in security operations through AI and emerging technologies.
- Develop and deliver strategic plans that provide continuous improvement opportunities.
- Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for security improvements.
- Partner with stakeholders on sensitive investigations and compliance matters.
- Contribute to the expansion of security operations to cover new facilities and business areas.
- Manage security incident escalation procedures and ensure appropriate stakeholder communication.
- Develop metrics and reporting to track team performance and security trends.
- Ensure compliance with corporate security policies and regulatory requirements.
A day in the life
The day of a Manager III Leader in Amazon Security starts early, monitoring overnight alerts and reviewing insider threat cases and workplace incidents. The day involves leading team standups, coordinating complex investigations with partner teams, managing crisis responses, and coaching investigators. They balance immediate security threats with strategic initiatives like implementing AI-driven threat detection, conducting stakeholder presentations, and developing security protocols for new facilities. Qualifications
- 3+ years of people management experience- Experience in Incident Management, Threat Management, Corporate Investigations, Law Enforcement, Security Operations, Crisis Management or a related field that involves conducting threat assessments, workplace investigations, and/or incident response
- Bachelor's degree in Criminology/Criminal Justice or a relevant field
- 7+ years of security-related professional, or 7+ years of law enforcement experience
- Understanding of insider threat programs
- Experience working with law enforcement and legal teams
Extended Qualifications
- Experience overseeing security operations and working with security vendors/contractors- Experience working in data centers or critical infrastructure
- Experience with common security monitoring, log analysis and forensic tools
- Experience driving security programs across large diverse organizations
- Knowledge of AI and emerging technologies in security operations

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
