Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Global Cost Control and Compliance Program Manager to oversee and optimize our organization’s financial processes on a global scale. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing cost control strategies while ensuring strict adherence to compliance standards across all business units.

Key job responsibilities

1. Develop and implement global cost control strategies to optimize operational efficiency and minimize expenses. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

2. Prepare and present comprehensive reports that bridge data and justify observed patterns to senior management on cost control and compliance program effectiveness.

3. Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

4. Develop and deliver data driven tools to streamline and automate program cost processes, cost reporting, and cost risks.

5. Develop and scale data cataloging of cost database tables and dataset cost field descriptors to enable LLM-based querying and promote adoption with stakeholders and customer teams.

6. Partner with training leads and stakeholders to ensure cost team database usage. Develop and deliver training programs to enhance awareness and understanding of cost control and compliance measures.

7. Build repository for data center-specific market intelligence metrics. Work with internal economists and cost teams for DC-specific insights. Ingest external datasets and maintain the labor and materials covering the needs of global regions.

8. Develop operational planning tracking compared to actual cost spend and develop automation to report out performance indicators.

9. Develop financial models factoring DC infrastructure variables including design, supply chain, schedule, and macroeconomic parameters to live-forecast operational planning numbers.

10. Gather requirements for self-serve tools, writing documentation, and leading doc reviews for customers to create scenarios and interrogate cost team datasets via LLM chat (Bedrock Agents).

11. Leverage internal cost database and design engineering dataset with external construction market data sources to develop multivariate cost forecasting models for future planned builds.



Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field.

• 5+ years of program or project management experience delivering cross functional projects experience and experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization

• 5+ years of data mining, reporting, data management, SQL, data warehousing, creation of ETL pipelines, and understanding of database systems, data visualization tools including Tableau/QuickSight/PowerBI

• 5+ years of experience with financial forecasting and statistical analysis

• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel (macros, pivots, lookups) at an advanced level



Extended Qualifications

• MBA, or Master's degree, project and/or portfolio management accreditation, such as PMP, Prince2

• Knowledge of data center infrastructure or system components, supply chain dependencies, and planning criteria.

• Working knowledge of the construction process, construction estimating/accounting, different procurement methods, value management and value engineering, leveraging cost references/standards (RS Means, Uniformat, CSI Masterformat) and statistical data providers (US Bureau of Labor Statistics, material commodities)

• Intermediate level knowledge of Python and Procore software

• Hands-on experience with AWS services including but not limited to EC2, DynamoDB, S3, Redshift, and Lambda and LLM development and deployment

• Proven capability working with, presenting to, and influencing senior executives

• Proficient in obtaining, organizing, auditing, and analyzing construction cost data to make fact-based decisions, drive root cause analysis, and evaluate outcome

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $98,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $210,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
