Description

Join our Ads Central Financial Planning & Analysis team where you'll translate complex financial information into compelling narratives that guide executive decision-making at Amazon. In this high-visibility role, you'll partner broadly across the Ads Finance organization to develop comprehensive financial insights that shape the performance and future outlook of Amazon's advertising business. You'll craft financial narratives for executive leadership, including Board of Directors materials, translating technically complex information into customer-focused stories that resonate with stakeholders both inside and outside the Ads business. This position requires exceptional communication skills, financial acumen, and the ability to balance conflicting stakeholder interests while maintaining accuracy and precision in all deliverables.

Key job responsibilities

- Develop comprehensive financial bridges, narratives, and strategic documents for Ads leadership team (SVP and direct reports), covering quarterly, and annual planning processes

- Contribute to quarterly forecasting, annual budgeting, and long-range financial planning while automating and scaling Ads reporting for improved transparency

- Partner with business finance teams using a customer-focused approach to ensure data accuracy and alignment across financial reporting

- Lead the Ads goals process by coordinating inputs from stakeholders and preparing materials for executive-level review

- Create guidance and workback plans to support key financial review meetings while conducting deep-dive analyses that assist decision-making by senior leadership

A day in the life

Your day will vary throughout the month and year, reflecting the dynamic nature of financial cycles. Some days you'll focus on partnering with teams to create financial outlooks and narratives, while others will involve evolving the structure of reports to meet diverse stakeholder needs. You might lead the Ads goals process—gathering inputs and working with teams to prepare materials for executive review. Throughout it all, you'll balance deep financial analysis with strategic collaboration, crafting impactful stories that illuminate performance metrics and insights.

About the team

Ads Central FP&A runs financial processes that span across the Ads organization and assist the CFO in supporting the Ads SVP. Our team coordinates efforts across all Ads Finance teams and provides critical information for Amazon-wide P&L meetings. We support Advertising leaders by consolidating deliverables, standardizing processes, establishing financial controls, building decision-making tools, and providing insightful analysis on both short and long-term strategy. Our work directly impacts executive decision-making and helps shape the future direction of Amazon's advertising business.



Qualifications

- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

- 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience

- 5+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience

- 5+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience



Extended Qualifications

- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

- MBA, or CPA

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
