Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Support Finance seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to serve as the dedicated finance partner for the Technical Account Manager (TAM) organization that powers customer success worldwide. From day one, you'll own end-to-end monthly HC, OpEx, and P&L reporting, collaborate directly with business partners, and bring data-driven insights that influence strategic investment decisions.

This role offers exceptional scale and autonomy. You'll independently manage the monthly reporting cadence, identify cost optimization opportunities proactively, and continuously improve planning mechanisms. You'll build scenario models that inform critical decisions, partner cross-functionally with Capacity Planning, Strategy and Field teams, and translate complex financial narratives into actionable recommendations. Key job responsibilities

- Proactively dive deep into financial data to surface insights, identify root causes behind variances, and partner on resolutions while insisting on the highest standards

- Deliver financial analysis and reporting by building scenario models, creating clear and concise summaries, and driving communication with business leaders through effective financial modeling

- Share findings and recommendations with business leaders to influence data-driven decision making on cost optimization opportunities and investment prioritization

- Build and maintain working relationships with cross-functional partners, aligning on planning inputs and responding to strategic questions

- Lead projects to execute on improvement opportunities that scale and improve planning mechanisms, demonstrating bias for action by prioritizing work, resolving issues, and meeting deadlines independently

A day in the life

This role centers on surfacing financial insights to senior leaders, aligning cross-functionally with Capacity Planning, Strategy and Field teams on planning inputs, and building scenario models that inform investment decisions. You'll also prepare director-level reporting packages and support business leaders with ad hoc financial analysis. Throughout, you'll balance urgent priorities with proactive analysis, continuously refining the mechanisms that help the TAM org as well as AWS Support operate efficiently at scale.

About the team

AWS Support Finance delivers planning, controllership, and strategic financial partnership across one of the largest organizations at AWS. We support senior leadership and business partners with organization-wide revenue, headcount, operational expense, and margin analysis and reporting that shapes how the business invests and operates.



Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree

- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

- 3+ years of contributing to cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience

- 3+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience



Extended Qualifications

- Experience in financial modeling, P&L management or analysis

- Experience with cube engine tools (e.g. TM1, Cognos or Essbase), SQL and Data warehouse

- Experience in identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes

- 3+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
