Description

Amazon seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Global Media & Entertainment, Ads, and Corporate Development (GMAC) Financial Planning & Analysis group. Our team interacts daily with global finance leaders within WW Video (Prime Video, MGM, Live Sports), Audio (Amazon Music, Audible), Twitch, Gaming (Amazon Game Studios, Prime Gaming), Advertising, and more. This role will design and enhance reports and models to make our data more actionable while owning critical reporting functions throughout various financial planning and reporting cycles.

The successful candidate will have the ability to tackle multiple projects and efficiently execute deliverables. The right individual will have strong communication skills and solid business acumen capable of driving results and improving processes. The successful candidate must be able to think and act both strategically and tactically. Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve and prioritize.

Key job responsibilities

- Partner with Finance stakeholders at multiple levels to analyze and understand business drivers of monthly variance

- Develop and deliver accurate, actionable, and timely financial and business metrics for monthly, quarterly and annual reviews

- Monitor, optimize, and enhance existing processes and controls

- Drive the financial planning and budgeting process

- Build relationships and influence cross-functional stakeholders

- Conduct in-depth business analysis and present strategic recommendations to department leaders

- Successfully manage multiple high-priority projects with challenging deadlines



Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience

- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

- 3+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience

- 3+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience

- 3+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience



Extended Qualifications

- 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

- MBA, or CPA

- Knowledge of Tableau

- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

- Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
