Amazon is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to partner with our Workplace Health and Safety Organization on the path to becoming Earth's Safest Place to Work.

This role will partner with a diverse range of global finance and business leaders to deliver on safety initiatives across Amazon. As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to invent and simplify new processes as finance engages in new ways with the Safety organization. This roll will own WHS FP&A, develop insightful forecasts, manage budget resourcing, and support a wide-range of safety projects while working closely with senior safety leadership. This role ultimately supports one of the most impactful teams in operations where customer obsession is focused on the safety of our associates. This role works with country and regional safety professionals, program managers, and business intelligence engineers to help invent and simplify processes, validate safety performance measures, and report on strategic initiatives which drive improvement in safety.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to influence business owners, support thoughtful decision-making, and adapt to a rapidly evolving environment. Regular collaboration with executives and various business units across Amazon will allow you the opportunity to exhibit your verbal and written communication skills.

Key job responsibilities

- Utilize solid financial knowledge and business acumen to build financial models and analyses with little guidance and draw conclusions and make recommendations that deliver results, and drive improvements

- Coordinating with WHS business leaders and WW FP&A to prepare a business narrative to tie with the financial bridge

- Delivers weekly/monthly financial close. Uses financial systems and advanced MS Excel functions to work with large data sets. Outputs plans, forecasts, budgets, and consolidations.

- Creates effective business partnerships, manages competing priorities, and provides guidance based on data analysis during unexpected events.

- Have ability to independently influence and drive outputs, meet deadlines, and set clear expectations

- An ability and interest in working in a fast-paced and rapidly-changing environment

- Take part in hiring, developing, and mentoring activities while you seek value, and leverage diverse perspectives

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

- 3+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience



Extended Qualifications

- MBA, or CPA

- Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results

- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

- Experience in financial modeling, P&L management or analysis

- Experience in delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
