Description
Amazon seeks a highly effective Principal Finance to be a key member of the Amazon Customer Service Finance team. Amazon Customer Service is the steward of Customer Obsession across Amazon, and our mission is to be unrelenting customer advocates. We uphold this mission with automated and human support to customers, using these signals to eliminate upstream defects. This finance leader will partner with the Finance Director, Amazon CS to support our Customer Service transformation initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the most customer obsessed finance teams at Amazon.Amazon Customer Service is focused on materially improving the customer experience and simplifying our business and operations. This will involve making step changes that will transform how we serve our customers and will require us to think differently, to let go of legacy approaches that no longer serve us, to (safely) run fast with a sense of urgency, and to intensify our focus on the most critical topics that will deliver the most material improvements to our customer experience. This role will be critical to delivering the transformation and the candidate must be comfortable operating in a highly ambiguous and rapidly changing environment.
Key job responsibilities
• Serve as a finance leader within the Amazon Customer Service finance team supporting transformation initiatives, including input on business strategy, team development, and management of planning processes.
• Partner with and influence teams across Amazon Customer Service to develop and maintain scalable financial models that drive planning decisions, enables controllership, and gives visibility to business drivers.
• Lead the ACS Weekly Business Review (WBR) and drive continuous improvement in partnership with business leaders.
• Drive automation and standardization of financial planning and reporting processes
• Perform various ad hoc analyses to help leaders solve business problems and understand the financial implications.
• Be able to thrive and deliver results in an ambiguous, fast-paced, and dynamic environment.
• Conduct business reviews, evaluate progress toward business goals, and communicate progress to senior management
• Dive deep into our business operations and processes to identify opportunities for growth acceleration and cost reduction
• Mentor and coach junior team members
About the team
Amazon Customer Service Finance is part of the WW Amazon Stores Finance organization. We are the Amazon Stores' financial partners and lead decision support, planning, analysis, and reporting the WW Stores organization. Our job is to partner with the business to plan, analyze, measure, and grow our global business. We contribute to business decisions by providing insightful analysis of all metrics and processes, inventing new ones where needed and simplifying and automating wherever possible. We methodically establish, evaluate, and improve end-to-end processes, financial controls, and capital investment.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience- 7+ years of finance technology, forecast & budgeting, or other finance-focused competency experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, and Computer Science)
Extended Qualifications
- MBA, or CPA- Experience in a leadership position managing finance, accounting and operational processes
- Experience in multiple finance and accounting roles, or experience in solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
