If you want to join a fast-paced, innovative team that is making history, this is the place for you.Amazon seeks a Finance Manager to play a key role on our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team. The scope of this role includes: delivering cadence reporting, driving accuracy in forecasting, surfacing insights from deep understanding of financial metrics, and communicating financial results concisely and effectively to senior leadership.
This position will work closely with multiple stakeholders across the organization to align on critical inputs, ranges of outcomes, and confidence intervals. A successful candidate will be able to navigate ambiguity and effectively deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Key job responsibilities
- Serve as a key business partner to the SMGS Sales Finance teams to consolidate and analyze revenue metrics across customers segments. Audit and improve the forecast accuracy at business unit level.
- Drive the cadence deliverable to central FP&A during planning and reporting cycles.
- Identify ways to simplify legacy processes and mechanisms through automation.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis as needed and present findings to senior management.
A day in the life
In this role, you will challenge the status quo of our existing processes and mechanisms, with an aim on simplification and using strong judgement on where depth of analysis is required. If depth is required, you also have the skill set to go deeper and extract insights.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
Extended Qualifications
- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience performing ad hoc analysis using advanced Excel
- Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving
- 5+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- 5+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
