Estimated salary: $129,300

Description

Amazon seeks an experienced Finance Analyst to serve as a lead contributor on the Merchant Fulfilled Network (MFN) Finance team supporting the 3P business. You will partner directly with the MFN business leader and cross-functional teams to generate insights that guide growth, operational efficiency, and seller experience improvements across the MFN channel. Financial analysis is at the core of Amazon's culture, and your work will have a direct impact on decision making and strategy for the MFN business.

You will be gathering seller and operational insights, mining data, making recommendations, and helping senior leaders make key business decisions around MFN performance, shipping economics, and seller program adoption. You will have the opportunity to work with a large and complex data warehouse to gather insights using data from across Amazon. These efforts will improve the ways in which we service our MFN sellers and improve business performance for the North America Seller Business and Programs (NASBP) organization.

The Finance Analyst will focus on streamlining MFN finance reports, owning sub-channel P&Ls, performing ad-hoc business decision support analysis, and developing metrics and mechanisms that drive visibility into MFN economics and seller behavior. You will build and maintain analytical frameworks that help the business understand unit economics, channel profitability, and the impact of program changes on seller outcomes.

We are looking for someone with a broad technical background in data analytics, strong business acumen, who takes ownership of their work, and is focused on customer needs. The successful candidate will communicate crisply in non-technical terms to senior management. They will have an ability to make data-driven conclusions and will be comfortable with ambiguity while working in a fast-paced dynamic environment. The candidate will also need to be a collaborator who can work with internal and external teams to define and implement solutions that will yield benefits to Amazon sellers and customers.

Key job responsibilities

Partner with the MFN business leader and cross-functional teams to provide financial analysis and insights that drive strategic decision-making for the MFN channel, challenging assumptions when necessary to ensure data-driven outcomes.

Develop and maintain metrics, reporting, and dashboards that accurately reflect MFN financial and operational performance, ensuring reporting accuracy and compliance with internal and external policies.

Own and maintain shadow P&L queries and analytical frameworks that provide visibility into MFN unit economics, channel profitability, and the impact of program changes on seller outcomes.

Create comprehensive financial models for cost-benefit analyses and business cases that support new MFN initiatives, demonstrating strong appreciation for seller experience and customer goals.

Mine large-scale data from across Amazon's data warehouse to generate actionable insights on shipping economics, seller behavior, and program adoption that inform business strategy.

Collaborate across teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and reporting automation, sharing findings and recommendations with senior leaders to influence strategic direction and operational efficiency.

Streamline and simplify existing MFN finance reports, building scalable and auditable data analysis processes that reduce manual effort and deliver reliable results for the business.

A day in the life

You might start your morning pulling data to answer a question from the MFN business leader about why sales mix shifted ASPs in a particular seller segment. By mid-morning you're updating a monthly P&L view and flagging a variance that needs investigation. After lunch you're building a cost-benefit model for a proposed program change, then jumping into a working session with product and ops partners to pressure-test assumptions. You'll end the day synthesizing your findings into a crisp summary for leadership, translating complex data into a clear "so what" that shapes the next decision.
