We are seeking a Senior Finance Manager to lead the finance team supporting the AWS Analytics business. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the most strategic and fastest growing divisions within Amazon. The candidate must operate successfully in a fast-paced, global, and results-oriented environment. The successful candidate will lead a team of Finance Managers and Senior Financial Analysts responsible for monthly financial reporting, annual planning processes, go-to-market initiatives, pricing decisions for new product launches, etc. The finance leader needs to look beyond the current year model and work closely with the GMs and engineering leaders to support growth and introduction of new products.
Key job responsibilities
- Serve as the lead finance partner for the GMs and product and engineering leaders of the Analytics businesses including Redshift, EMR, Glue, Athena, and MWAA.
- Influence business decisions with effective verbal and written communication, data driven analysis and modeling, and presentation of trade-offs and alternatives.
- Lead short- and long-term financial planning.
- Provide strategic support for key business initiatives and investments.
- Provide analysis against budgets and previous periods, identifying risks and opportunities, and effectively communicating results to senior leadership to influence and support tactical and strategic business decisions; ensuring that timely and accurate metrics and forecasts are created and maintained.
- Lead and develop a team of Finance Managers and Senior Financial Analysts.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, and Computer Science)
Extended Qualifications
- Experience managing a team of individual contributors- Experience working with multiple groups of stakeholders
- Experience using strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines
- Experience handling ambiguous or undefined challenges through strong problem solving abilities
- Experience working within a high-growth, technology company
- Experience with cube engine tools (e.g. TM1, Cognos or Essbase), SQL and Data warehouse
- BA/BS degree in business, finance, MBA preferred.
- The ability to self-motivate in a fast-paced and rapidly-changing environment with competing deadlines.
- The successful candidate will have experience in past roles influencing business owners and supporting decision-making in rapidly evolving environments. This role requires a self-starter with strong modeling skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to manage overall business effectively. This role also has regular interaction with executives and various business units across AWS and, therefore, requires strong interpersonal and communication skills. In addition, this role requires strong business acumen and capability to independently drive finance and business partnership.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
