The ideal candidate will take ownership of problems and question "that's how we've always done it.”Amazon is looking for Financial Manager to join the Amazon Customer Service Finance team as a key strategic partner. Amazon Customer Service serves as the steward of Customer Obsession across Amazon, with a mission to be unrelenting customer advocates by providing automated and human support while using customer signals to eliminate upstream defects. This is a high-visibility role where you will partner directly with senior and executive leaders across CS to shape financial strategy in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment. The successful candidate will be a self-starting who thrives in ambiguity, brings strong business partnership instincts, and can navigate organizational complexity while driving results with limited precedent. In this role, you will partner with finance and business leaders to support transformative Customer Service initiatives, joining one of the most customer-obsessed finance teams at Amazon.
Key job responsibilities
As a Finance Manager supporting the CS Finance organization you will:
- Manage multiple workstreams, executing parallel initiatives with autonomy, balancing subject matter expertise with horizontal collaboration across the team
- Lead cross-functional initiatives and independently deliver projects to scale, improve controllership, and create value-add enhancements
- Build key stakeholder relationships, establishing and maintaining strong partnerships with business teams, finance partners, and leadership to drive alignment and standardization of metric and reporting definitions
- Drive Process Improvements, contributing to the evolution of reporting and planning cycles by identifying opportunities for automation, simplification, and consistency.
- Develop scalable financial tools that align and simplify monthly business reviews, annual planning, and forecasting processes
- Provide mentorship to junior team members and participate in team-wide educational efforts.
About the team
Amazon Customer Service Finance is part of the WW Amazon Stores Finance organization. We are the Amazon Stores' financial partners and lead decision support, planning, analysis, and reporting the WW Stores organization. Our job is to partner with the business to plan, analyze, measure, and grow our global business. We contribute to business decisions by providing insightful analysis of all metrics and processes, inventing new ones where needed and simplifying and automating wherever possible. We methodically establish, evaluate, and improve end-to-end processes, financial controls, and capital investment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 5+ years of leading cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience
- 5+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience
- 5+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
- Experience delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives/projects
Extended Qualifications
- MBA, or CPA- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
- Understanding of controllership principles including data quality management, control design, and audit support

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
