This role is on the AWS Infrastructure team. We provide end-to-end financial support driving AWS to be the low cost provider in Cloud computing and leader in customer experience. This includes supporting business owners in building, operating and innovating our Cloud data centers. We support Cloud operations, business development, and engineering. You should be passionate about producing financial analysis enabling management to make breakthrough decisions, drive cash flow, and ultimately delight our customers.
This role will be directly involved in supporting the operations of our largest data center campuses ever built and enabling the expansion of ML/AI services.
Key job responsibilities
We are growing rapidly in existing regions as well as expanding into new regions. As a member of this team, you will work with regional AWS leadership to:
- Serve as key business partner working directly with AWS management and other internal stakeholders to provide strategic financial guidance. You must have the ability to structure problems, perform analysis, and present to your business partners. Supporting business partners at Amazon requires the ability to dissent, while building trust.
- Prepare detailed financial models for business segments, drive business initiatives, and identify, implement, and deliver key operational efficiencies
- Manage the financial planning process including modeling, analysis, and metrics that drive budgeting/forecasting and business decisions.
- Deliver accurate and impactful reporting on financial and operating metrics.
- Be an integral member in the monthly financial close process and perform ad hoc projects and analysis as needed
- Analyze business results for key takeaways to achieve business objectives.
- Monitor compliance with controls and systems, and developing new processes to support the fast-growing, global AWS business.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
- Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving
Extended Qualifications
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- MBA, or CPA

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
