Description

Amazon.com is seeking a Finance Manager for a high visibility role supporting Amazon's Global Media and Entertainment (GME) leadership team. Opportunities abound for impactful analysis, process improvement, and scope expansion. Primary responsibilities will include management and reporting of a highly visible Free Cash Flow Program that drives costs optimization and revenue generation initiatives across the organization. This role requires a candidate that is eager to learn about the drivers of the global GME businesses (Prime Video, Amazon Music, Twitch, Audible and Amazon Games) and comfortable interacting with business and finance leaders. The right individual will have exceptional financial modeling skills and the ability to evaluate opportunities and challenges facing the business. This candidate must have the ability to influence the decisions of business partners through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning, and the presentation of alternatives. The ability to think and act quickly under pressure and manage multiple competing priorities effectively is a must. A proven track record of superior financial and strategic analysis and delivering recommendations based on this analysis is a requirement for this role. Successful candidates will have the initiative to anticipate business demands of senior-level business managers.

Key job responsibilities

- Build and maintain the forecasting and reporting infrastructure associated with cost-out and incremental revenue driving initiatives across entertainment businesses

- Lead recurring meetings with finance, tech, and business leads across Amazon to ideate and/or scale effective initiatives

- Produce quarterly review materials for escalating levels of leadership, culminating in an SVP review

- Produce and present for approval an annual plan for the upcoming fiscal year to senior leaders and their finance partners

- Lead and influence relevant different stakeholders on ad-hoc projects

- Develop ad-hoc business analysis and present recommendations to department leaders

- Must have ability to work on multiple projects with challenging deadlines

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

- 5+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience

- 5+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience

- 5+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience



Extended Qualifications

- MBA, or CPA

- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

- Knowledge of SQL/ETL

- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
