Description
The OpportunityWe are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join the Ad Products and Tech (AdPT) FP&A team. This is a unique opportunity to be part of Amazon's high growth advertising business - one of the most visible and dynamic areas within the company.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with business and finance leaders to develop strategies, build financial models, and generate analytical insights. You will own quarterly guidance, annual planning, and long-term forecasting, working across teams to consolidate key performance drivers. Given the complexity of how advertisers interact with Amazon, strong analytical and communication skills are essential.
Primary Responsibilities
• Lead short-term and long-term financial forecasting
• Analyze monthly actuals vs. forecast, providing detailed commentary and insights for leadership
• Partner with finance and business leaders across advertising to develop robust revenue forecasting models and variance analysis
• Drive accountability for financial plans, challenging assumptions where necessary
• Enhance performance tracking by reinforcing key metrics and evaluating new business opportunities through financial modeling
• Identify and implement process improvements, including standardized and ad-hoc reporting
• Uphold strong financial controllership and ethical business practives
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 5+ years of finance experience or a related analytical field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analyses into actionable insights
• Experience working with technology and product teams
• Experience with digital advertising, marketing, sales and big data
• Strong business judgement with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
• Ability to influence the decisions of senior business leaders through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning, and the presentation of alternatives
• Comfort working through ambiguous problems with minimal direction
• MBA or Masters in Business, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics
This role is available in Seattle, WA or New York City, NY Area
Qualifications
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience- 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 4+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
Extended Qualifications
- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
