Description
The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Communications team seeks an Events Manager to manage Public Relations (PR) events and activities at US AWS, International, and third-party events, as well as support global programs around our annual premiere customer event, re:Invent. The ideal candidate will possess event and communications experience with an understanding of public relations and working with the press. The ideal candidate will have strong event planning, coordination, project management skills, and execution. Experience should from range from brand activations to corporate retreats. This position requires understanding of storytelling and integrated marketing communications.The candidate should have a proven track record in successfully managing onsite meetings and extensive experience with meeting scheduling tools. Candidate should have strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, and written communication. Must have strong experience in managing scalable processes, working with international teams, and delivering meaningful reports and insights, and executing efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
We are looking for someone who is ready to roll up their sleeves and join a team that is tackling complex, interesting and challenges, as well as a team player who enjoys collaborating with diverse stakeholders. The role requires periodic travel.
Key job responsibilities
Support, plan activations, manage work streams, and help execute large-scale PR programs at US-based and international AWS events including re:Invent, AWS Summits, and re:Inforce, as well as third-party events as needed.
Coordinate with regional PR teams to ensure seamless planning and execution of PR activities at re:Invent and work with global PR teams on regional Summits.
Create processes and research tools for more efficiency with our programs, by streamlining processes, reducing duplication of activities, and removing obstacles.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related field
- Experience working in international cross-functional teams
- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
- Experience utilizing systems and tools involving email, web, analytics, and CRM (Marketo, Tableau, Salesforce, etc.) for targeting, segmentation, reporting for demand generation
- Experience delivering events and influencer programs
- Experience using Microsoft Suite, RainFocus, Airtable, AWS Pulse, Splashthat, Jifflenow, and Adobe Suite, Asana, and Cvent
- Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional programs from concept to completion
Extended Qualifications
- Experience with end-to-end ownership of major project deliverables- Experience using English communication skills, both written and verbal, to foster seamless interaction with stakeholders at all levels
- 7+ years of event marketing or brand, program, or experiential marketing experience
- Experience building and growing relationships with internal and external partners
- Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment
- Experience owning creative input, development and execution from concept to completion
- Experience working directly with PR (agency), Analyst Relations and Communications teams

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
