Description
Amazon is seeking a strategic Events Lead to drive the vision and execution of high-impact internal events that align with Amazon's business objectives and culture. This senior role will lead the conceptualization, strategy, and delivery of complex global events - whether virtual, physical, or hybrid - that unite our internal audience, drive business alignment, and foster community engagement.This position requires a seasoned events professional who can provide thought leadership, drive innovation in event experiences, and lead cross-functional teams while maintaining Amazon's high bar for excellence. The ideal candidate will combine strategic thinking with proven execution capabilities, demonstrating expertise in both traditional and digital event formats.
Key job responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
• Develop and own the strategic vision for major internal events, ensuring alignment with business objectives and measurable outcomes
• Lead the development of event frameworks, playbooks, and best practices that can scale globally
• Drive innovation in event experiences through new technologies and formats
• Drive innovation in production technologies and event experiences
• Develop comprehensive event accessibility strategies ensuring inclusivity across all programs
Program & Production Management:
• Lead end-to-end production strategy and execution for complex, high-visibility events
• Oversee development of technical production plans including CAD drawings, floor plans, stage plots, and rigging plots
• Direct all production aspects including staging, AV, livestreaming, and accessibility services
• Establish and maintain production quality standards across all event elements
• Lead vendor strategy and management for technical production partners
• Develop and implement risk management and safety strategies in collaboration with security teams
Technical Leadership:
• Define and implement technical strategies for hybrid and virtual events
• Lead livestreaming operations and virtual experience design
• Oversee post-production processes including video editing and digital asset management
• Drive accessibility implementation including ASL, captioning, and physical accommodation requirements
• Conduct and oversee technical site surveys and production planning
• Lead technical troubleshooting and crisis management during live events
Budget & Resource Management:
• Own comprehensive event and production budgets
• Drive cost-optimization strategies while maintaining production excellence
• Manage resource allocation across multiple concurrent events
Quality & Innovation:
• Establish technical production standards and quality metrics
• Stay current with emerging production technologies and industry trends
• Drive continuous improvement in production processes and capabilities
• Lead initiatives for sustainable and eco-friendly production practices
About the team
Internal Corporate Communications operates as Amazon's central source for internal company news and events, reaching a global audience of corporate employees. Our team develops and delivers news, announcements, and strategic communications that help employees understand Amazon's business, culture, and workplace, balancing information employees want with information they need to know.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience- 7+ years of developing and managing acquisition marketing or channel programs experience
- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
- Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
- Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
- Experience developing and executing campaigns across a multitude of timezones and languages
Extended Qualifications
- Experience driving direction and alignment with large cross-functional teams and agency partners- Experience designing and executing joint marketing plans with strategic alliance partners with global footprint

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
