Description

As a Senior Engagement Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing and delivering complex projects that involve multiple workstreams. You will work closely with AWS teams (ProServe, Sales) and customer stakeholders, ensuring that projects are aligned with strategic goals and are executed efficiently. Your role will involve overseeing the end-to-end project lifecycle, including contract execution, proposal delivery, and data requirements gathering, to ensure successful project outcomes.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

Key job responsibilities

Project Management and Execution:

- Define, plan, and manage integrated project workstreams across various strategic opportunities.

- Lead project scheduling and coordination to ensure timely delivery and quality outcomes.

- Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential project risks.

- Manage the contract execution process, ensuring all deliverables meet the contractual obligations and align with project objectives.

Stakeholder Communication and Reporting:

- Prepare and deliver detailed project updates and reports to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with business objectives.

- Serve as a key point of contact for stakeholders, including internal AWS teams and customer representatives, maintaining continuous communication throughout the project lifecycle.

- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver proposals that meet customer needs and align with AWS’s strategic goals.

Team Collaboration and Support:

- Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather and define data requirements, ensuring they are integrated into project plans.

- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve project challenges, align goals, and achieve project deliverables.

- Provide support and guidance to project teams, helping to build their capabilities and ensure high performance.

Process Improvement and Innovation:

- Continuously evaluate project processes and identify areas for improvement, incorporating best practices into project management.

- Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements to drive process innovations and improve project outcomes.

Accountability and Metrics:

- Take responsibility for the success of the projects, tracking performance metrics and adjusting strategies as needed to achieve business objectives.

- Ensure that all project deliverables meet the required quality standards and strategic goals, including the successful delivery of proposals and execution of contracts.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience as a Program Manager or in a similar leadership role in a technology-focused environment.

- 5+ years of experience managing cross-functional projects, including developing sustainable processes and coordinating complex schedules.

- 3+ years of experience in project management disciplines, such as scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path management.

- Proven experience in technical product or program management, with a focus on executing strategic initiatives.

- Experience delivering project updates and briefings to stakeholders, including senior management.



Extended Qualifications

- Advanced project management certifications, such as PMP, Agile, or equivalent.

- Experience defining and managing KPIs/SLAs to drive multi-million dollar businesses, with regular reporting to senior leadership.

- Track record of driving innovation at a strategic level within large organizations.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly in conveying complex project details to stakeholders.

- Experience with driving innovation within the project management process and deliver high-impact outcomes.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $238,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
