Description
Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.The Electrical Engineer will be a member of Amazon Leo's Inter-Satellite Link Avionics team, focusing on the design of the various electrical functions including analog sensor signal conditioning and processing, and overall monitoring and control across spacecraft interfaces.

Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will be expected to lead a variety of tasks, from board design and component selection, to layout review, board bring-up, system test and root cause analysis at the subsystem as well as system level. You will be responsible for ensuring high quality and innovative designs, while also supporting other colleagues with reviewing and improving board and other electrical designs.
We are looking for an engineer who combines superb technical and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. You will be expected to work with a team of top-notch engineers and collaborate with multiple other spacecraft design and integration teams. You should be comfortable with a high degree of autonomy and relish the idea of solving problems that haven't been solved at scale before. A day in the life
You will tackle challenging, novel situations every day and have the opportunity to work with multiple technical teams at Amazon in different locations. As an Electrical Engineer, your tasks would vary between board design, layout reviews, test plan development and qualification. This is a cross-functional role requiring constant interaction with multiple HW/SW design teams and end-users.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalentExtended Qualifications
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations- Experience with hardware/software integration and real-time systems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $86,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
