We are seeking individuals with the business background, technical depth, and communication skills needed to tackle the complex data & analytics challenges customers face as they make the journey to the cloud. We're hiring highly passionate analytics experts to work with our Solution Architects on key customer and partner engagements. These engagements will focus on Real Time and Batch-based Big Data processing, Business Intelligence, NoSQL, and Machine Learning. This role will specifically focus on AWS Services for Analytics, and on helping our customers and partners build innovative Solutions and Businesses that focus on leveraging the value of data.
You will possess a technical background that enables you to drive an engagement and interact at the highest levels within our customer teams. You possess the presence and wherewithal to easily communicate the benefits of cloud computing to a variety of technical and business audiences. You also demonstrate the ability to think strategically and long-term about the needs of global businesses, and are deeply familiar with complex, legacy IT environments. Your understanding of the broad data and analytics ecosystem makes you stand out from your industry peers.

What You'll Do
As Director of AWS Data & Analytics Solutions Architecture, you will lead and develop a global team of Data & Analytics Solutions Architects, setting the vision for market development, sales enablement, and solution architecture. You will drive customer-centric value propositions spanning end-to-end data platform integration, real-time and batch processing, Business Intelligence, Machine Learning, and generative AI-powered analytics on AWS.
You will serve as a globally recognized evangelist and thought leader for AWS Data & Analytics solutions — shaping the future of how customers and partners harness the power of data in the cloud.
Key job responsibilities
• Set the vision for Data & Analytics Solutions Architecture across AWS's analytics portfolio (Amazon Redshift, EMR, Kinesis, Glue, Athena, Lake Formation, SageMaker, and related services), connecting technology capabilities to business strategies and customer outcomes
• Own strategic planning for Data & Analytics GTM initiatives and serve as a trusted advisor to Directors and VPs on data technology trends, market opportunities, and competitive positioning
• Serve as a globally recognized evangelist and thought leader for AWS Data & Analytics solutions through keynote speaking, white papers, reference architectures, and AWS Blogs
• Architect advanced customer solutions for Real Time and Batch-based Big Data processing, Business Intelligence, NoSQL, and Machine Learning; demonstrate viability through proof-of-concepts and establish company standards for data architecture best practices
• Craft compelling audience-specific content (product videos, customer success stories, demos, presentations, how-to guides) and serve as technical liaison between customers and engineering teams
• Lead and develop a global team of Data & Analytics Solutions Architects, fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and innovation
• Create operational mechanisms to address recurring escalation patterns, reduce bureaucracy, and actively lead the broader SA community
• Collaborate with AWS field sales, professional services, engineering, and product management teams to shape product vision, develop best practices, and drive partner go-to-market strategies
• Lead large multi-org or global initiatives that drive significant business impact across the data and analytics ecosystem
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in a technical or engineering related field, such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, etc.- • 15+ years of technical design/implementation/consulting experience in solutions architecture or equivalent
- • 10+ years of leadership experience in a technical, customer-facing role in the data, analytics, or AI/ML industry
- • 7+ years of experience managing and leading technology organizations related to data platforms and analytics
- • 7+ years of hands-on experience with Big Data technologies including Data Warehousing, Hadoop/EMR, NoSQL, Machine Learning, and/or Real Time Event Processing
- • Demonstrated ability to set vision and lead strategic initiatives across multiple organizations
Extended Qualifications
- Master's degree or above in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent, or experience working in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)- • 15+ years of pre-sales engineering, technical business development, enterprise sales, strategic partnerships, or program/product management experience
- • Deep expertise across the modern data stack: data ingestion, transformation, warehousing, real-time streaming, ML model development and deployment, and BI/visualization
- • Proven track record of thought leadership through technical articles, conference speaking, or open source contributions
- • Extensive experience with cloud computing and AWS analytics services
- • Exceptional people-management skills; able to inspire and foster the right behaviors in others through leading by example (Player/Coach)
- • Strong enterprise communication skills, business and financial acumen
- • Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated ability to turn detailed data analysis into useful strategic insight to drive customer adoption and make appropriate recommendations to the business
- • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills combined with executive presence
- • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations, building consensus and driving results
- • Proven ability to reduce organizational friction and create mechanisms that scale

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
