Description
Amazon’s Device Design Team has launched revolutionary products like Echo, Fire TV, Fire Tablet, and more. Are you interested in joining the team to lead Amazon’s next innovation?Our Design Program Management team is seeking a Sr. Design Program Manager to work collaboratively with designers, engineers, product management, and other program managers leading Design programs and projects throughout the planning, design, and development lifecycle. As a Design Program Manager, your emphasis will be on planning and prioritization of design deliverables, resource management, schedule tracking, mitigating project risks, and collaborating with design leads to deliver innovative solutions across work streams.
Key job responsibilities
- Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints
- Put repeatable processes in place that help us plan and manage multiple parallel projects and run our business
- Create, maintain, and disseminate project information to stakeholders and senior management
- Working across teams to create strong relationships with stakeholders and senior leadership teams
- Communicate project status with design team and stakeholders regularly
- Seek opportunities to make improvements to team efficiency and process.
- Primary point of contact for design, working closely with design leads and directors to proactively clarify requirements and use cases, actively seeking clarification when there is ambiguity.
About the team
The Amazon Device Design Team is a multidisciplinary design team that is responsible for Design across Echo Family Devices, Alexa Mobile, Fire TV, Fire Tablets and more. Our mission is to bring to life delightful, easy-to-use, and high value experiences for our customers.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of design program management experience- Experience escalating issues, anticipating and making trade-offs, balance the business need versus other constraints and maximize business benefit while building great customer experiences
- Experience understanding needs of business and end customers and translating them into scope for design
- Experience owning program strategy and end to end delivery, including defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
Extended Qualifications
- Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies (agile to waterfall)- Experience working and contributing to project playbooks, building schedules, managing issues/risks, establishing communication plans and stakeholder management
- High capacity for making informed decisions that positively affect customer experience, business outcomes, and technical considerations
- Skilled in navigating complex trade-offs to prioritize resources, program health, and scalable solutions
- Exceptional ability to convey complex decisions and strategies, ensuring clarity and alignment on critical decision areas
- Excellent communication, planning, risk management, and strategic escalation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $192,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
