We are seeking a talented, creative, and experienced Sr. Design Program Manager to join our team, working to help create thriving conditions for design excellence at Amazon. As a Sr. Design Program Manager of Learning & Development, you will hold a pivotal role as a single threaded leader, developing a learning roadmap and curriculum to enhance the careers of designers, creatives and researchers at Amazon. We are seeking a creative, strategic, and self-directed specialist to define, create, and launch a framework for L&D and design curriculum. You will play a critical role in our vision to make Amazon the place where designers and creatives can do the best work of their careers, developing best in class design L&D programs that drive measurable results.

Key job responsibilities

• Identify and build L&D experiences and new curriculums to equip the design community with skills, knowledge and leadership capabilities

• Oversee the end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of learning modules, including recruitment and production of content

• Partner with global L&D teams and People eXperience and Technology (PXT) teams to deliver innovative learning solutions

• Drive measurable community impact through initiatives, reporting on insight and taking actionable steps to increase sentiment

• Source and maintain design content to spotlight, cross Amazon and externally

• Develop and maintain resource library

• Optimize L&D across team work streams including events, community and communications

• Lead in depth discussions and secure leadership alignment on program roadmaps and requirements

A successful candidate will:

- Thrive in ambiguity, possessing excellent problem solving and communication skills

- Foster teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across leaders and members of the design community

- Understand design and creative roles, identifying learning needs from the ground up, to develop work streams end to end

- Demonstrate exceptional analytical abilities and judgement, using insights to prioritize and influence decisions

- Show creativity, innovation and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

- Partner with key stakeholders and senior leadership to shape the L&D vision and strategy

- Actively seek out, implement and share best practices



Qualifications

- 6+ years of design program management experience

- Experience understanding needs of business and end customers and translating them into right solutions

- Experience gathering and analyzing large amounts of data and delivering continuous business improvements



Extended Qualifications

- Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies (agile to waterfall)

- Experience working and contributing to project playbooks, building schedules, managing issues/risks, establishing communication plans and stakeholder management

- Experience designing or developing learning solutions for Design professionals

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $192,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
