As a Specialist within Amazon Web Services, you would be able to shape the future of the Analytics industry and further establish Amazon as the leader in the cloud computing space.

The ideal candidate will possess both a business background that enables them to drive an engagement and interact at the CxO/VP level, as well as a technical background that enables them to easily interact with software developers and architects. He/she should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally to build consensus. A keen sense of ownership, drive, and scrappiness is a must.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen.

Key job responsibilities

- Serve as a key member of the Database Specialist team focused on helping to drive revenue and market share in a defined territory and within the public sector

- Meet or exceed quarterly revenue targets.

- Develop and execute against a comprehensive account/territory plan.

- Create & articulate compelling value propositions around AWS services specific to the CxO level.

- Accelerate customer adoption.

- Maintain a robust sales pipeline.

- Work with partners to extend reach & drive adoption.

- Develop long-term strategic relationships with key accounts.

- Ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

- 7 plus years of technology sales, business development or pre-sales support

- Database Management Systems experience (i.e., PostgresSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL, or Oracle)

- Bachelor degree required



Extended Qualifications

- Experience with customer facing roles (Enterprise/Strategic) and account management and solution selling ability.

- Experience selling, positioning, architecting and utilizing technologies like Amazon Aurora, MongoDB, Microsoft SQL server, Apache Cassandra, IBM Db2 or similar.

- Computer Science, and/or Engineering/Math background highly desired; working knowledge of software development practices and data center /infrastructure / networking technologies highly desired.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
