Description
We're seeking an exceptional Senior Data Scientist to join our team and drive data-driven decision making across Amazon's ecosystem. In this role, you'll leverage advanced analytics, machine learning, and statistical modeling to solve complex business problems and deliver actionable insights that drive innovation and customer value. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will design and implement sophisticated machine learning models and algorithms while leading end-to-end data science projects from conception to deployment. You'll collaborate closely with business stakeholders to identify opportunities and translate their requirements into technical solutions, while developing and maintaining scalable data pipelines and ETL processes. In this leadership role, you'll mentor junior data scientists, present findings to senior leadership, and drive best practices in data science methodologies across teams. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the future of our data science initiatives and delivering impactful solutions at scale.Key job responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end data science projects from conception through deployment
- Design and implement advanced machine learning models and statistical algorithms
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities and translate requirements into technical solutions
-Mentor junior data scientists and promote best practices across teams
- Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership
- Create and maintain data visualization dashboards to communicate insights effectively
A day in the life
Your day might start with a team standup to align on project priorities, followed by deep-dive analysis sessions using Python or R to develop predictive models. You'll collaborate with business partners to understand their challenges and propose data-driven solutions. Some days include mentoring sessions with junior team members or presenting project updates to leadership. You'll balance hands-on technical work with strategic planning and team coordination.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience- 4+ years of data scientist experience
- Experience with statistical models e.g. multinomial logistic regression
Extended Qualifications
- 2+ years of data visualization using AWS QuickSight, Tableau, R Shiny, etc. experience- Experience managing data pipelines
- Experience as a leader and mentor on a data science team

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $143,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $247,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
