Do you see yourself as a champion of innovating on behalf of the customer by turning data insights into action?The Amazon Digital Acceleration (DA) org seeks a talented Data Scientist to transform complex datasets into actionable insights. You'll leverage machine learning algorithms, predictive modeling, and GenAI to optimize our digital customer lifecycle and enhance customer experience across Amazon's platforms.
We're looking for a data-driven problem solver who excels in Python, or similar programming languages, with extensive experience in statistical analysis, machine learning frameworks and GenAI applications. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of implementing end-to-end ML solutions, Gen AI applications, strong A/B testing experience, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop and implement AI/ML models to analyze integrated customer data across multiple touchpoints (orders, subscriptions, engagement, clickstream), with a focus on predicting customer behavior patterns, identifying churn risks, and generating actionable insights for business stakeholders.
- Design and build predictive analytics systems that can identify customer intentions from digital interactions, analyze discrepancies between intended and actual customer actions, and provide recommendations for optimizing customer journeys and improving retention.
- Prototype and integrate generative AI solutions into internal workflows to enhance analytical and operational capabilities.
- Partner with engineers, PMs, and other stakeholders to translate business problems into science solutions, and document findings through internal reviews.

Amazon Digital Acceleration powers ordering, subscriptions, and device management for Prime, Amazon Video, Music, Audible, Alexa, and Kindle, amongst other digital businesses. We process billions of digital purchases every year and enable our digital businesses to grow their businesses worldwide. We are on a mission to be earth's best provider of one-time and recurring digital commerce, delivering a seamless and enjoyable post-purchase customer experience.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of data scientist experience- 3+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
- 3+ years of machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques, and parameters that affect their performance experience
- Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment
Extended Qualifications
- Experience in Python, Perl, or another scripting language- Experience in a ML or data scientist role with a large technology company

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $125,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
