Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites that will provide high-speed, low-latency internet connectivity to people and businesses around the world.

As a Sr. Creative Program Manager for Project Kuiper, you will play a pivotal role in driving our creative aspirations with operational excellence. This role will provide design program management leadership and operational support throughout our creative organization and across multiple partner teams by increasing communication and connection points, streamlining the design process, and driving design excellence. You will collaborate closely with designers, marketers, product managers, and other cross functional partners to lead creative projects throughout the planning, design, and development cycle. This role is part creative project management and design operations, collaborating across various marketing functions on projects that raise the bar on our customer’s experience and help us do more with less. A successful candidate has a growth mindset and does not need much oversight, with exceptional stakeholder and project management skills needed to balance competing priorities and deadlines.

This position requires a unique blend of design operations acumen, creative vision, and project management skills to ensure our marketing and content creation efforts are not only innovative but also efficiently executed. You will be the backbone of the creative department, facilitating seamless workflows, optimizing processes, and enabling our team of talented creators to focus on what they do best: creating captivating content. You don't need to be a design expert, but you should have a basic understanding of content creation for design and video production. You have a strong sense of ownership and can manage projects and programs at both the strategic and tactical levels.

In this role, you’ll combine expert program management skills with a passion for creative excellence to help the team deliver best in class work that will be seen by millions of customers. You’ll work cross-functionally and collaborate with marketing and creative leadership, designers, and product teams to plan projects, define milestones, assess risks, and help projects meet deadlines. You will also manage communications to team members, executives and other stakeholders. You are a master planner and a flexible leader who can balance multiple programs in a creative design environment. You will also have the opportunity to also get involved in creative. While design experience is not required for this role, we are looking for someone with a passion for all things creative and a willingness to learn, whether its creating a PowerPoint presentation, editing a video, or reviewing designs.

Export Control Requirements: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Key job responsibilities

- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive creative project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation, to ensure timely delivery of high-quality output. Build out and schedule the creative plans, and manage creative reviews and feedback with senior leadership. Be the creative department's voice to stakeholders across the business.

- Team Coordination and Leadership: Serve as the primary point of contact between creative staff and other departments, including senior leadership, to communicate project statuses, scheduling, negotiate resources, and resolve any operational hurdles.

- Process Optimization: Continuously assess and refine creative workflows and processes to increase efficiency, reduce bottlenecks, and improve overall productivity. High level of proficiency for creative project management and expert knowledge of Smartsheet.

- Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate effective communication and collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure creative projects align with business goals, brand standards, and strategic objectives.

- Quality Control and Standards: Maintain high standards of creative excellence, ensuring all output is on-brand, and meets or exceeds industry standards. Manage delivery and legal and export compliance across onsite and social channels.

- Resource Management: Oversee allocation of creative resources, including budgeting for creative tools, software, and personnel, to maximize efficiency and output quality. Organize/delegate the maintenance for all Data Asset Management Systems. Maintain all wiki’s and creative documentation. Partner with finance team to define and report on efficiency metrics.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Marketing, Communications, or related field

- 5+ years of design or creative program management experience, design operations, or related discipline

- Experience managing design, UX or creative programs and working with design or creative marketing teams

- Demonstrated history of influencing cross-functional stakeholders, partners, and senior executives

- Knowledge of project management tools (Smartsheet) and methodologies (agile to waterfall)



Extended Qualifications

- Experience working and contributing to project playbooks, building schedules, managing issues/risks, establishing communication plans and stakeholder management

- Proven track record partnering with designers, producers, agencies, and content-creators

- Ability to work across numerous projects with competing deadlines and effectively prioritize deliverables

- Knowledge of creative tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)

- Project Management professional certification

- Experience with content management systems (e.g., Bynder)

- Ability to share ideas and receive feedback from business partners

- Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines

- Graphic design or video editing skills are strongly preferred but not required for this role

- Experience working in—and with—Figma

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $210,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
