Description
Join Amazon's legal team supporting Alexa, where you'll be part of a dynamic team working at the intersection of AI and consumer technology. We are looking for a talented Corporate Counsel to support our rapidly evolving Alexa business. You’ll be a leader in the legal team primarily responsible for counseling the Alexa business on privacy and policy matters. You will advise on a broad range of legal topics, including privacy, content policy, licensing, technology, and regulatory engagement. You will work directly with the business, serving as lead counsel on strategic issues and deals, providing day-to-day input on business and strategy, advising on the launch of new products and features, resolving issues that arise in commercial relationships, and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries. You will develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways, and you will build processes that address risk and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly.Some travel will be required.
Key job responsibilities
Providing ongoing legal counseling in a wide range of legal areas, including intellectual property, digital media, privacy, and regulatory compliance, and structuring, drafting and negotiating complicated technology, distribution, licensing, marketing and other commercial agreements.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of legal experience- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Proven ability to navigate complex legal landscapes
Extended Qualifications
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work- Experience advising on data privacy issues
- Strong track record of innovative legal problem-solving
- Experience advising on legal issues related to AI
- Experience interpreting and providing guidance on new laws and regulations

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
