Description
We are looking for a talented and experienced commercial lawyer to fill the position of Corporate Counsel to support the Amazon Web Services (“AWS”) Sales and Marketing organization. This Corporate Counsel will be part of the AWS Sales and Marketing legal team and will serve as a trusted advisor to the Global Deal Strategy & Programs (GDSP) organization, a fast-growing business that leads AWS’s most strategic commercial customer engagements across the world.Key responsibilities in supporting GDSP include negotiating complex cloud services agreements, advising on regulatory and compliance issues and the launches of new products and tools, and innovating to modernize and scale our legal support. This role will also participate in other AWS legal projects, including managing issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and driving simplification efforts.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be inquisitive and scrappy, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged, and thrive working in a team-oriented environment. You will also need to demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations and be adept at driving consensus across stakeholders.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of legal experience- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Experience in transactional and technology licensing or equivalent
Extended Qualifications
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work- Familiar with IT infrastructure, outsourcing, telecommunications, or cloud services.
- In-house experience at a technology or internet company.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once and follow through, and a solutions-oriented approach to addressing issues.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
