Description
Work hard, have fun and make history with Amazon's legal team. We are looking for an experienced attorney to help manage Amazon’s labor and employment issues throughout the U.S.Responsibilities include providing practical advice and counseling regarding general labor and employment issues such as those relating to discrimination, disability accommodation, hiring, performance management and discharge, wage and hour, wrongful termination, and other relevant labor and employment issues. Responsibilities also include managing litigation, including class action litigation, government agency investigations, proactive training, and administrative charges as well as the assessment, selection, and supervision of outside counsel.
This position will work actively with internal clients in the Human Resources Department and requires the ability to travel when necessary. This position reports to the Senior Corporate Counsel, Labor & Employment.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of legal experience- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
Extended Qualifications
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work- Experience with complex and class-action wage-hour litigation, as well as California employment-law litigation
- Experience with large hourly populations
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations
- Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical and computer skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
