Description
Amazon is seeking a Copywriter II to lead the creation of copy in our in-house Creative Studio. As a Copywriter, you know how to write concise and strategic messaging that drives crucial marketing initiatives, inspires customers, and creates business results.You have developed and adapted messaging for multiple types of paid and owned media executions, website content, and email marketing. You have been on teams with designers, producers, strategists, and other creatives in a symbiotic partnership of combining words with visuals. You live by the rule of brand guidelines but are flexible and agile when creating something that may go against the grain if it will wow a customer. You are a connoisseur of colloquial language but understand how to apply a consistent brand voice that is unique and engaging to multiple customer segments. You welcome the opportunity to review marketing materials for quality control, never miss a period, know the difference between widows and orphans, and embrace the Oxford comma.
Key job responsibilities
This role resides on the Creative Team within Workforce Staffing, Marketing. Core responsibilities include:
• Strategic Development: Lead copywriting initiatives for global English-speaking markets and develop comprehensive messaging strategies that align with campaign objectives
• Brand Voice Management: Maintain and evolve copy guidelines while ensuring consistent brand voice across all marketing channels and customer segments
• Content Creation: Write compelling copy for multiple types of paid and owned media executions, including digital, social, broadcast, and print materials
• Quality Control: Review and approve marketing materials for brand consistency, grammar, and effectiveness while maintaining strict editorial standards
• Stakeholder Partnership: Collaborate with creative teams, regional stakeholders, and business partners to develop effective content solutions
• Innovation Leadership: Drive best practices and continuous improvement in messaging approaches while staying current with industry trends
• Performance Optimization: Utilize research and data to inform messaging strategies and improve content effectiveness
• In-office 5 days a week. Office location is in Seattle.
About the team
Workforce Staffing is responsible for the recruitment of over one million employees within Amazon Operations. Our Global Creative Services marketing team creates content to attract jobseekers to join our hourly workforce. This role provides an opportunity to shape our messaging strategy while implementing innovative approaches to content development across global markets.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, technical writing, communications, or a related field- 4+ years of experience on a creative team in an ad agency or corporate marketing department
- An online writing portfolio showcasing quality work
- First-hand experience concepting and executing digital, social, and broadcast campaigns
- Ability to maintain messaging decks for all customer segments, campaigns, and other marketing initiatives
- Thorough understanding of writing for a specific target audience and incorporating guidelines for brand voice
- Expertise in Microsoft Office as it relates to communications and collaboration
Extended Qualifications
- Background includes working as part of a global team with remote colleagues- Experience working in global marketing campaigns
- Experience working in an agile content development environment
- Familiar with Adobe Creative Suite as it relates to working with designers
- Drive best practices, continuous improvement, and provide recommendations for message innovation
- Ability to utilize research and data to inform messaging
- Strong bias for action and the ability to balance multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
- Experience working in Recruitment Marketing is a plus

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $108,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
