Description
Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.We are looking for an experienced compliance professional to join the Amazon Kuiper team to support regulatory compliance operations of the business. The Compliance Program Manager will be responsible for supporting regulatory compliance requirements, tracking test data and maintaining schedule alignment across multiple programs.
The Compliance Program Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining a regulatory compliance oversight database across Kuiper Customer Terminal programs to align requirements, schedule, coverage gaps, current test results and approval status. They will work will cross-functional stakeholders and regulatory compliance engineers to drive schedule, asses risk and ensure that all compliance activities are sequenced in a timely manner to ensure successful product roll-outs.
This opportunity requires a subject matter expert to contribute within a fast-paced, growing team. You will champion customer outcomes and use your knowledge of the industry and regulatory horizon to ensure sustainable, compliant solutions are formed. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed in an open collaborative peer environment.
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Key job responsibilities
- You will plan and direct compliance testing of hardware platforms, devices, and accessories with external 3rd party test labs.
- You will support the design team through product execution, and ensure we meet all applicable regulatory compliance requirements.
- When necessary, you will perform detailed, and independent research and literature reviews to yield actionable conclusions to ambiguous regulatory compliance issues.
- You will be responsible for delivering concise and informative compliance updates to leadership.
- You will also work with our internal compliance engineers, manufacturing partners and labs to test and ensure all in-production devices remain compliant with all certifications.
- In this role, you will work closely with the product management team and design team by researching and specifying regulatory and industry compliance requirements.
- Determine the applicable regulations, standards, and safety requirements for new and existing products.
- Communicate technical safety and compliance requirements to design teams, operations, and contract manufacturers.
- Engage with senior Amazon leaders to represent compliance-related topics.
- Contribute to international expansion and certification strategies.
- Stay abreast of industry activities by participating in standards development committees or other industry organizations relevant to Kuiper.
Qualifications
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Bachelor's degree in RF/Microwave Design, Electromagnetics, Antenna, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience in wireless regulatory compliance, testing, and certifications.
- 3+ years of experience with wireless technologies including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, GPS, WWAN (GSM/WCDMA/LTE/5G), and etc.
- 3+ years of experience with launching mass produced consumer electronics.
- 3+ years of experience in wireless product certification and homologations for international countries
Extended Qualifications
- Master's or PHD degree in RF Design, Microwave Design,and/or Electromagnetics- Experience obtaining various industry certifications (e.g., BT SIG, WFA, etc.).
- Experience with standards development, industry advocacy groups, and regulatory committees.
- Experience in RF architecture design
- Experience in RFIC and/or RFFE chipset design
- Strong leadership skills in driving certification labs, effectively prioritizing testing plans and achieving deadlines
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, along with the ability to think strategically and develop solutions quickly and effectively.
- Organizational and project/program management skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
