Description

Amazon is seeking an intuitive, high-judgment, self-motivated, and creative communications professional to join our Operations Internal Communications (OIC) team.

As an Internal Communications Manager, you’ll help manage strategic and tactical internal communications for global Operations support functions including Global Realty, Procurement and Engineering. From creating employee-facing communications about critical policies and changes to identifying positive storytelling opportunities, you will be a key partner to project teams and executives within the business.

The ideal candidate must be a team player, able to act independently, have exemplary writing skills, a proactive work ethic, and a talent for developing creative approaches to difficult communications challenges.

This role can be based in Nashville, TN; Arlington, VA; or Seattle, WA with an ability to travel occasionally to other Amazon sites across North America and occasionally internationally.

Key job responsibilities

• Write, review, and manage business-specific email communications, updates, change announcements, leadership messaging, and ad hoc communications

• Develop strategic and innovative internal communication plans

• Coordinate the delivery of content across internal channels

• Oversee the strategic editorial calendar and capture team metrics for reporting to key internal stakeholders and informing forward-looking communications strategies

• Proactively build trust and maintain strong, cross-functional relationships with key internal stakeholders – from Operations associates to executive leaders

• Manage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges with an ability to look around corners for risk

• Be the employee experience advocate, representing and protecting this through all strategies and decision-making

• Manage and support crisis communications on a rotating basis

• Roll up sleeves and get work done, even when at times it’s outside the scope of the job

Qualifications

- 7+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience

- Bachelor's degree



Extended Qualifications

- Experience in internal communications with a preference for operations or frontline communications knowledge

- Experience with a national or global company

- Experience executing highly successful, creative, and complex communications plans

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Experience in change management or issues management

- Experience developing relevant content for a diverse, dispersed, and mobile workforce

- Solid project management skills, handling multiple tasks and evolving priorities

- Possess a strategic approach to problems solving

- Ability to exercise high judgment, particularly in narrow time-frames and when dealing with ambiguity

- Adaptable and willing to pivot quickly to meet emerging demands

- Keenly focused and able to pay careful attention to important details

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $188,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
