Description
Amazon is looking for a Communications Coordinator to join its Books & Publishing team supporting our in-house book publisher, Amazon Publishing. This role, which can be based in Seattle, WA, or Arlington, VA, will support title publicity campaigns for new releases across multiple imprints as well as proactive storytelling and strategic communications for Amazon Publishing.Key job responsibilities
- Lead title publicity campaigns for book releases, including pitching media, developing influencer strategies, and providing support to authors.
- Support and liaise with agencies providing publicity support for book releases.
- Develop and support proactive storytelling ideas for Amazon Publishing initiatives and spokespeople.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on campaigns and Amazon Publishing storytelling.
- Advise stakeholders on news-making opportunities and media strategies.
- Write and execute communications plans.
- Develop and write press releases, media pitches, and owned channels content.
- Build relationships with reporters from key media outlets.
- Advise on reactive media inquiries and issues related to areas of ownership.
- Identify and execute efficiencies in day-to-day processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree- 3+ years recent professional communications or public relations experience.
Extended Qualifications
- Experience working directly with media.- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to drive progress and earn trust while working with multiple stakeholders.
- Creative and entrepreneurial thinking.
- Positive, can-do attitude.
- Solid judgment, particularly in narrow time frames.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $51,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $110,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
