Do you like helping the U.S. Department of Defense implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems? Would you like to do this using the latest cloud computing technologies? Do you have a knack for helping these groups understand application architectures and integration approaches, and the consultative and leadership skills to launch a project on a trajectory to success? Amazon Web Services is looking for highly talented and technical consultants to help accelerate our growing Professional Services business. Professional Services engage in a wide variety of projects for customers and partners, providing collective experience from across the AWS customer base and are obsessed about strong success for the Customer. Our team collaborates across the entire AWS organization to bring access to product and service teams, to get the right solution delivered and drive feature innovation based upon customer needs.

It is expected to work from one of the above locations (or customer sites) at least 1+ days in a week. This is not a remote position. You are expected to be in the office or with customers as needed.

This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance.

Have a strong understanding of large scale computing solutions. The ideal candidate will have past experience working as a systems or support engineer. You will enjoy keeping your existing technical skills honed and developing new ones, so you can make strong contributions to deep architecture discussions. You will regularly take part in deep-dive education and design exercises to create truly innovative solutions built on AWS.



Qualifications

- 7+ years of technical specialist, design and architecture experience

- 5+ years of database (eg. SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Kinesis) experience

- 7+ years of consulting, design and implementation of serverless distributed solutions experience

- 5+ years of software development with object oriented language experience

- 3+ years of cloud based solution (AWS or equivalent), system, network and operating system experience

- 7+ years of external or internal customer facing, complex and large scale project management experience

- Bachelor's degree, or 7+ years of professional or military experience

- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above



Extended Qualifications

- 7+ years of security, compliance and risk management experience

- Professional experience architecting/deploying/operating solutions built on AWS

- Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries

- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud, to include DoD Special Access Programs

- Experience managing highly available data center operations with responsibility for infrastructure robustness, including networking, server hardware and storage

- Understanding of Federal Government application, server, and network security requirements such as Joint SAP Implementation Guide, DOD Risk Management Framework, and FedRAMP.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
