Description

At Amazon, we are working to be the most customer-centric company on earth and to get there, we need exceptionally talented, bright, and driven people. We are looking for a flexible, organized, self-starter to join AWS’ Data Center Learning team as Certification Specialist.

The Data Center Learning team supports AWS’ Data Center Community (DCC), providing training and certification solutions to a diverse and global group of data center technicians and engineers. Our mission is to develop the best data center workforce on earth. We are a service organization supporting the conversion of untrained employees to become shift-ready and improve and grow their technical skills over time.

We are looking for Certification Specialist who wants to be a part of building exciting and new offering for AWS Data Centers. Our infrastructure is rapidly changing and growing to adapt new technical solutions such as machine learning. To manage that growth effectively, Data centers need to have a reliable method of assessing the skills of their people and identifying gaps in skills coverage of their staff. Data Center Learning is developing a Certification program which will provide reliable assessments of work ready staff. You’ll play a key role in building the assessments and deploying them with our users! You will have an opportunity to apply your knowledge within instructional design, behavioral psychology, and program management. And above all, you will have passion for learning.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Key job responsibilities

- Based on the inputs from the Global Business Owners and Subject Matter Experts, design assessments that measure cognitive abilities, competencies, or job-specific skills for a wide range of technical roles.

- Work with Certification Methodologist to choose the right assessment tool (e.g., behavioral interviews, psychometric tests, situational judgment tests) to accurately measure the defined competencies.

- Develop test items (e.g., multiple-choice questions, situational judgment tests, simulations) based on job analysis findings and inputs from Certification Methodologist.

- Use best practices in test construction to minimize bias and maximize accuracy.

- Develop guidelines and procedures for secure test delivery (online, proctored, or in-person).

- Provide technical documentation and user-friendly reports explaining assessment results.

- Gather feedback from stakeholders, assessors, and participants to refine the assessment program regularly.

- Monitor program impact and effectiveness, updating competencies or tools as organizational needs evolve.
